We must be prepared to vote NO. Like Carl said, it's the only avenue we have at this point to derail the MEC's desire to "constructively engage" the company at the expense of the Delta line pilot. The company is insanely profitable. If we can't make concession-free gains now, we never will. |
I'm also hearing more from guys with "buddies at ALPA" or "in the CPO" is management's desire to scrap the current sick provisions in favor of a significantly smaller number of "Personal Days Off" (basically, paid Personal Drops).

One quick question. If the AE comes out Jan 2 and the conversions do not start until Feb 1st, are the Jan 2014 new hires released from there seat lock since the conversion I would assume start Feb 1st.
I would be ok with a 3 year lock if they pay protect us like they do with SLI to the highest paying position we can hold. |

Don't accept less paid sick time for anything- you may not think you need it when you're younger or healthier, but unknown sick events have a way of creeping up on you. When that happened to me and I used up all my sick time, I was very happy to have a normal amount of sick to get a regular paycheck. We can't go to work "and tough it out for the day/week/month" while we get better like almost everyone else in the working world. We have to be at 100% to make good decisions and handle emergencies. |
Payback Day
Question: I am on reserve for January, and would like to use a payback day on one of my on call days. There is good coverage for the day I want to use the payback day. The problem is 4 days of on call in a row is the minimum for my category. Will they let me use a payback day if it breaks the minimum 4 days in a row on call, and leaves me with only 3?
I know payback days strategy was addressed at length a month or two ago. Anybody remember where in this epic thread all that info rests? Thanks! :confused: |
