Ah! So, if there's an open seat on the airplane (even if in business), the non-rev will get on? (But, if coach is oversold, the extra pax will fill up any available business seats ahead of the non-revs?)

If I've got that correct, then it's more or less just like domestic? Much as I might wish for the "guaranteed" seat with business wide open, it's kind of hard to complain about revenue pax boarding before non-revs....

They'll put nonrevs in any empty seat they have unless it's payload optimized, which means it's up against a limiting weight. Years ago they would not upgrade someone who bought an international coach seat just because coach was oversold. Nice for nonrevs, you only had to look for empty BC seats and you were golden. No more.

That changed about 7 years ago when the EU started imposing large fines for every passenger denied boarding. The Clampetts can ride in business for free!

Well it's on Asia flights and South America flights and Africa flights and Australia flights too.

Anyone know if we get the special passes for family members to non-rev on a flight we're working on Christmas? How do we go about listing them?

Get Rick Steves Paris book. Has hotels and priorities on things to do. Sometimes the Novotel offers a pretty good employee rate, you'll need to call each of the 3 layover hotels directly to ask. #s should be on Mycrewguide.com They will likely tell you 4 can't be in one room.
The night before you fly home, think about staying out at CDG. Go thru Delta Perks (Employee Connection), can usually get a room for around 50-60€ and don't have to sweat getting out there the morning of your flight.

Beware of oversold coach and HKs showing up from nowhere at the last minute. Happens more at a hub. CVG can be a good option.

Fat Tire bike tours. Fun and gives you a good overview. And 50% off for airline folk

Perfect! Thanks for all the good info!

When they check in at the kiosk have them select s2b as their priority is the procedure. Enjoy Christmas with the family!

Not sure why you had to drag my wife into this.

IMO this resolution was destroyed and buried with no timeline for any action. I guess that's fine with you. That's your opinion. I respect that. It disappoints me, because you are a very intelligent person.

Jerry

PS no worries on the wife. I don't have one. Ahhhhhhh.

The dates are limited. Read the letter on Delta net or you might get a nasty surprise in your next check.

"On the one hand, American and Delta (DAL) , two of the three global U.S. carriers, are engaged in a competition to see who can play their employees more.

In a letter to employees announcing the pay raises, American President Scott Kirby noted that flight attendants will have hourly pay rates 7% higher than their peers at Delta and United (UAL) while other employees can look forward to similar premiums. For pilots, currently in negotiations, "the company's proposal in regard to pay rates is now 7% higher on average than the rates in place at Delta.""

Merry Christmas. The above statement is from a article on TheStreet.com website. Sounds like a good time to be negotiating a contract. Hope we can use our heads as a pilot group and do better than our last couple of contracts. Don't want to hear about concessions in areas such as,

Pay Banding - We already have pay banding on certain fleets
Sick time - I'd like to do away with the verification requirement
Freezes - Two years is long enough.
Profit Sharing - We caved in on our last contract.

The list goes on and on. Now is the time to secure a great contract.
Merry Christmas
