I clearly screwed up what was a light-hearted attempt at humor, to the point where some folks seriously thought I was advocating physical violence in the workplace and PMed me threatening my job. And several folks replied in the thread offended so clearly the post wasn't perceived as the satire/joke it was intended as-- my fault, sorry to have ruffled feathers and riled guys up.

It was intended to be a joking "that's a bad idea" post in an intentionally "over the top" tone, and I thought it would be obvious to all readers. The whole thing, as Bucking Bar alone apparently noticed, was a paraphrase from Monty Python's "The Holy Grail", where the Knights of Ni respond "over the top" and threaten to kill and eat the Sir Robin. Apparently not everyone is as conversant with the movie, as I thought "And should be beaten about the head and shoulders with a herring if not worse" would make everyone reading the post say "Oh, he was parodying Monty Python here", as it's the only place in history where anyone was ever threatened with death by being beaten with a herring (fish).

While I do have a serious opinion on allowing new changes to the swap board, that post wasn't intended to seriously convey it. Again, my sincere apologies for what was obviously a poorly executed joking post.
I got your humor. I also thought it was funny how people went all "I'm offended!!" MSNBC style.

I see lawn-dart drivers aren't any better than some of us from other communities at VID.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's an A-7 with the motor removed.

Glad I could contribute in some way after all the questions I've asked. This has been an overall bummer of a week, so I'll wear this badge with pride.

Maybe, it looks like a swept back wing not a delta to me, but that could just be the angle of the picture. A frontal view would make it a lot easier to tell. Either that, or I'm still providing humor for the longest running gag in the thread.

You are not the only one I know of on here who has been threatened. Pretty sad that guys make real world threats over a few posts on a message board.

Call at 5 PM. Inform scheduler that this was an oe trip and you hate calling in sick but you just can't go. You're doing the honest thing... by the way did I mention it's a TOE trip? Yeah lucky you guys you don't have to buy anybody off the trip, you've already got a guy who wants it. In fact, he just picked it up.

I thought Roadkill was advocating the herring beatings to better access the backdoor, but only for the Bs of course.
