Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Senior FO's watch for TOE trips. The day prior to the trip they call the junior FO and swap their better trip with him. At 7 pm that night they are now the senior FO and stay home. The original senior FO now flies a trip he thought he would be home for. There are a few guys who do this all month long. One FO I know lost staying home on two trips in a row to the same guy.
It's legal but I would not call it ethical. Easy fix would be the senior original line holder on the trip stays home unless both guys dropped it.
There are some very ****ed off FO's over this issue!

We should have a down vote and up vote to posts.
Because the behavior described here deserves a down vote.

But SF, why did that FO allow that guy to do that to him twice??

No down vote then, somebody can get some glue and put that F-15 back together. I guess the only proper response is you'll be senior one day, no? Isn't that how it works? I get its not nice to do though, it won't be fun when your next trip you're with the guy you jumped and he is ****ed at you. Do unto others...
I've been lucky and seem to average one buy off a trip per month but I also don't bid lca. I've seen that backfire when you get a crappy trip on the PBS award and think there's a lca so you're good only to have the lca swap out. I've also seen the pilot getting oe get taken off the trip. It's a bonus when it happens but otherwise its a trip.

BTW => roadkill is right. Out of base swaps and pick-ups are a horrible idea. It would be a massive job killer and besides, I want to be awarded trips based on seniority, not on who is my Facebook friend.

Not sure if this would apply to the specific pilot in question, but I can think of a scenario that would make this legit. If the pilot was mandatory displaced to ATL 717 A (from ATL DC9 A for example), he/she would not have incurred a category freeze because of the mandatory displacement. When NYC 717 A opened, the pilot bid and got that award and is still not under a category freeze since the bid required no training and was only a change of base. Now the pilot is free to bid anything he/she wants on any bid, including SLC 73N B.
Oh okay I get it now.

. I can barely differentiate a 717 from an MD88 and don't even get into 737-X00 series differences. I can tell the difference between a 747 and CRJ.I think the real beef here is the original senior FO already is kind of senior. The ultra senior FO who is snatching the trip could make this same deal with the guy who is already senior so at least he'd get a good trip out of it, but instead is going to the JR. guy who was going to fly anyway. Now the original senior FO is still flying the original trip, the original junior FO is off on a more desirable trip, and the ultra senior sniper FO is chilling at home. I can see how the guy who thought he was getting the week off might be a little bugged by this situation.

Around here we only can correctly identify those military airplanes that were in movies.
Therefore here are the airplanes:
F-14. Thank you Top Gun.

F-14 with Mig 29. Thank you Top Gun

F-16 with Man Spread. Thank you Iron Eagle.

The rest... we do the best we can.

From: Douglas Aerospace post production Flight Test & Work Around Engineering bulletin dissembler
- The 737-700 is small, loud, the sunshade is blocked by the EFB mount and doesn't perform like a 757.
- The 737-800 is small, loudest, the sunshade is removed and doesn't perform like a 757.
- The 737-900ER is small, louder, the sunshade is blocked by the EFB mount and doesn't perform like a 757.
The common characteristics are small, loud and doesn't perform like a 757. The distinguishing characteristic is the cockpit noise level. Since the -900 is only louder, it known as the ER.

Since Boeing was saved by Douglas, they have put their top Long Beach engineers to work the "Duude, this thing is loud ..." issue. So far they have discovered attending Manowar concerts prior to flight results in passive attenuation of noise through a process they call tinnitus.

I must also correct you one more time, the F-5 in question is a MiG-28, not a MiG-29.
