You may already know this, but I learned it the hard way a couple of weeks ago: a significant difference internationally is that you cannot "convert" your non-rev listing to a JS listing ("flow forward"). Once you're within 75 minutes of push, you're stuck with whatever listing you have (or don't have). For reasons that elude me, the system cannot take a non-rev listing and put you in the JS; and we're not allowed to make two listings (i.e., one non-rev & another JS "just in case"). You can still "flow back" from the JS if there are open seats, but if you're trying to sit with your wife, that may not work out as well....

Sounds logical to me. I don't see why a guy from a different base gets to pick off the better trips. If my base's lineholders don't WS it, as a Reserve, I want the option to put in a high yellow for it.

Here is a fair way to look at most OOB transactions:
1). If you want to fly in my base, bid it.
2). If no one in my base wants it, then you can bid the trip.
3). The base's flying belongs to the base, and is on loan to the pilot that holds it. If he doesn't fly it, it belings in my base's open time, not your buddy in another, according to any individual's whims.

Under the old system as I posted in base reserves always had priority over out of base white slips. If they submitted a yellow slip they went first. The company demanded the change as it reduces costs and manning. Even when on reserve I liked the system because out of base guys often saved me from having to fly a crap trip I was sure I was going to get.

I don't think your assertion about manning is correct, the way Reseves are flying these days. Under 30% Reserves, maybe. Today, I suspect the net effect would just be to have Reserves fly crappier trips.

One more time. Out of base white slips never went ahead of in base reserves who wanted to fly. If a in base reserve puts in a yellow slip he gets the trip ahead of the out of base white slip.
The company demanded the change to the current system. The old system was better for me as a reserve. It allowed me more not fewer options.

Don't have the data to prove it, but I do have <10% battery remaining, and am at the shop with car, and no charg

He is a DAL pilot. He has a right to his viewpoints. What are annuities paying these days? A $5000/yr annuity nets you what amount monthly in retirement $35, maybe, I'll pass on that.

I'm taking the family out to SLC for a week to teach my son how to ski. Where's the good snow, hotels that shuttle and reasonable lift tickets...it's been awhile for me. I need a refresher.
