12 yrs ago at a commuter we stayed at a real dump by the airport.

There are numerous noise complaints there. Due to the noise, our hotel comitte would not approve it. I also think the restaurant was closed for awhile. Anyway, we didn't approve it and the company put us there anyway. This is the only unapproved hotel in the system as far as I know.

Question..... If you want to use an APD for a trip that covers the Apr/May bid transition when do they run it? I know they start running those for the next month on the 20th like all the rest, but how do they figure the reserve coverage for the days in the following bid (May)? I'm familiar with the 25% rule and I read the contract section about it, but I'm a little confused about how it's worded. It says something about before line bidding for the following month is closed reserve will be "deemed" to have sufficient availability. Does deemed mean assumed?

I would first put the trip on the swap board as a pu only. You might not have to waste your APD. In the past you had to wait until 20 APR to drop a carry out trip going into May to see the may coverage. That was improved recently. Here is the language.

An APD request will be granted if, at the time of processing, the: number of reserves available in the category is at least 25% of the number of reserves required (as determined by the reserves required formula under Section 23 W., and as shown in DBMS), Note: For purposes of a rotation that is scheduled to begin in one bid period and end in another, prior to the close of line bidding for the second bid period, a day(s) within such second bid period will be deemed to have sufficient reserve availability, provided that such day(s) does not fall within an APD holiday period as described in Section 23 I. 8. a. Exception. Exception: An APD request may be denied regardless of the number of reserves available during the period commencing two days before and ending one day after the following: 1) New Year's Day 2) Super Bowl Sunday 3) Good Friday 4) Easter 5) Memorial Day 6) Independence Day 7) Labor Day 8) Thanksgiving Day 9) Christmas Day

Yes, nice new hotel with a room that actually is a suite, in a good location with plenty of food/drink options close and a Ruby Tuesday's or Applebees as part of the hotel with good crew discounts that stays open late.
