Gentleman,
You all seem to be forgetting something very, very important. If we drag out this negotiation we can not only expect very nice profit sharing increases, but we will also receive annual pay raises. We just received a .55 per cent raise - not much but remember UAL and AMR have contracts with raises coming for the next few years. Don't forget the little known codicil (thanks Dean Wormer :D) in the DAL Pilots contract that matches the average pay of AMR and UAL. Now that average just passed barely us, but each year they get raises so it wouldn't surprise me if we get a 2-3% raise every year even if we are parked. No need to rush anything boys. Either we hit a grand-slam or we wait it out enjoying pay raises and increased profit sharing. Happy Memorial Day! Scoop :) |

That ONLY happens IF others in the company get a raise like they did this year.
Correct, I am assuming the risk of other employee groups unionizing will make it inevitable. Probably, a bad assumption on my part, with us being in section 6 anything is possible. Scoop |

No I mean section 3, payrates, in the contract. I want the union to negotiate section 3 then if the company wants to talk PS we can talk but I hate the way they did the payrates in C2012. 4/8.5/3/3 but they would have been less if we had not given up profit sharing? I do believe most Delta pilots would have voted no to say a 0(that was early anyway)/6.5/3/3 or even an 8.5/3/3. Funny how many Dalpa guys were in the lounge saying don't worry we won't ever see those 3/3 with a wink like we were going to get another bite at the apple before they took effect.

Ummmmm the only group that is even remotely talking about unionizing are the FAs, and the group that was trying to do so recently punted. I don't believe there is anything on the visible horizon, so do you really want to hang your hat on that?
Are you a line pilot at Delta Air Lines? It's a simple question. I don't want to know your name. Just curious about your profession. |

I don't want to hang my hat on anything. I want a TA that we can all vote for, a TA that lacks a bunch of concessions. But if it is lacking - no rush. If we don't get the pay bumps which as a few pointed out might not happen, we still should be looking at major profit sharing increases. Anyway - I want to be able to vote yes. I voted yes on C-2012 because it met my minimums. Well with record profits and a recently announced $5 Billion stock buyback my minimums are a lot higher. I will look at the deal as a whole and make a decision as I expect most will do. Scoop |
