I can't do it, but what do you have a problem with?

Guys who can't hold a base and drop their entire month in NYC then fill up with out of base WS's in the base they wish. Most of the time an out of base WS saves the company a GS and takes a GS away from a pilot who can is in that base.

I know it is allowed by the contract, but it drives me bananas when GS's are going out and some dude out of base WS's a trip saving them a GS.

It drives me bat $hit when a guy in my category yellow slips... That's someone's greenie. Who yellow slips when they're short.

I know it's legal.

I do, to get a commutable trip vs sit short call. The devil you know is better than the devil you don't.

I keep waiting for the company to close this loophole or have a min month requirement for benefits, insurance, etc.

I guess we don't have enough 62-64 year old guys that are dropping a couple trips a month to enjoy a partial retirement while keeping their benefits. If I was 60/when I'm 60, if I'm not retired yet, I plan on doing exactly that and keeping my insurance while taking it easy for the rest of my career while my 401K grows a few more %.

Hopefully our staffing will be adequate by then to be able to drop a trip or two.

I'll be an automatic no vote for a minimum threshold.

What's next, giving up OE trip drops? Oops....

And I have a problem with that!

Why don't they let them have a blank regular line instead of taking all the good trips then dumping them back into the pot?

Well in my defense the reason I want to PD is because my trips are horrendous! then just hope something better pops up

Don't forget that you can only drop your entire line if your category is staffed sufficiently so that reserves available exceed required for all the days of the trips you are flying. Depending on the category it might be easy or impossible.

Who cares what your reason is. Some people will never be content with the actions of others

Hey whatever happened to nuguy?

Or that guy who was no longer in Memphis, no longer on the 9 but, still a guy (I forget his screen name)?

Still around, just mostly lurking in the background...

You are omitting both Q trips and the swap board.

True that. I have frequently used both, to both drop and pick up depending on a host of factors.
