Not sure if things have changed but when I was headed for Africa a few years ago, although Yellow Fever Vaccine was offered by many clinics I was told only to get it at a designated center which gives you the YF card and is officially recognized. I was overseas at the time and had to get it at a government facility.I was told then that getting it a any other clinic would not be acceptable and I would not be allowed to re-enter without the government printed YF card. BTW YF is good for 10 years, and if you are planning to spend a fair amount of time overseas there are plently of other vaccines recommended as well depending on where you will be spending time. I had YF. Cholera, Typhoid, Hepatitis, Tetanus....... as I was in Africa and South Asia.
I had them put all the shots on my old military shot records. No one has ever checked my shot records going or coming anywhere. |

As a regular line holder you can do anything you want over personal drop days. Lots of pilots will personal drop their entire schedule and cherry pick white slips.
Why don't they let them have a blank regular line instead of taking all the good trips then dumping them back into the pot? |

And I have a problem with that!

Even given our current system pilots get access to those trips via the swap or WS process. The guys I know clearing their Skeds generally tend to be junior line holders. A few are senior guys who are trying to go max credit for GS's. |

I don't know any airline that currently offers what would basically be a leave of absence at every pilots discretion. It would certainly give us amazing leverage in contract talks.

I guess we don't have enough 62-64 year old guys that are dropping a couple trips a month to enjoy a partial retirement while keeping their benefits. If I was 60/when I'm 60, if I'm not retired yet, I plan on doing exactly that and keeping my insurance while taking it easy for the rest of my career while my 401K grows a few more %. Hopefully our staffing will be adequate by then to be able to drop a trip or two. |

Most are junior guys and the problem I have with it is most drop their schedule and out of base WS so they don't have to commute. Lots of NYC guys doing that.

Or that guy who was no longer in Memphis, no longer on the 9 but, still a guy (I forget his screen name)? |
