Meanwhile...the MD-11 were content to switch our JV Scope measure from Seat Miles to Block Hours, which would make one of our 757's flying to Europe equal to a KLM/Air France A380 flying to ATL!

Really?

So the TA would have eliminated the global production balance in Section One that measures and protects widebody international ASMs?

I didn't know that.

So if we are out of compliance with the AF/KLM deal using EASK's but switching to a block hour limit puts us into compliance, how does the global production balance protect international ASM's?

I don't know so I want you to let me know.

One of the things I loved about this as a career was getting to retire young enough to enjoy it. Ruined by a minority that wants to fly till they die. Sure hope it doesn't get raised again. Truly sad to to see someone never get to enjoy the fruits of his labor

Don't think anyone wants to fly till they die, unfortunately circumstances changed. BK, loss of pension, loss of airlines. Demand better in this contract, better medical, better work rules, better retirement. If you can retire now...do it.
Remember that backpack they want you to carry? The ones asking don't have to worry about retirement or medical.

55? It said he was a LCA SEA330. I'm 58, hired at 31, I would be the plug +2 there.

I have a two part 30 in 168 FAR 117 rest question.

1. When I block in on the last leg of a trip, does my rest begin immediately or does it begin at some point (30 minutes?) after block-in?

2. If my original schedule had adequate rest but due to delays I will violate the 30 in 168 rule, will scheduling figure this out on their own or do I need to call in?

Thanks

1. It's release time based on your actual block-in.
2. Once the door opens and you block-in on the leg leading into the 30 you should get a schedule change phone call. Have you already started your 30?
