Tummy,
Isn't your picture fake, I mean really T-37's out in the Pacific defending Wake?

Honestly though, many a good time on Wake island "training/fishing" trips from Hawaii! The 50cent beers always helped as well.

Yeah, I really like Wake. I wish I could make it out there again.

I'm trying to use my APD on Sept 3rd (only on the 3rd) to drop a trip Sept 3 - Sept 6. Failure message of "Capped Reserves."

Reserve coverage is well above the 25% level for APD use on the 3rd. Since trip is near Labor Day, are special rules in effect?

Thanks!

Can't drop a trip 2 days before to a day after holiday. Sept. 6 is a day before labor day so it won't drop. Leave it in because it will drop before PD's if coverage is adequate, but the 25 percent rule doesn't apply to the 5th-8th. This is all explained in the PWA.

Thanks, I thought that by only using the APD on Sept 3, and not Sept 3-6 it would avoid the holiday exemption. Couldn't find a straight answer in the PWA. I appreciate the insight.

I regularly see all sorts of potential GS out of NYC go to ATL reserves. All it costs the company is 1 DH from ATL...

Greenslips on reserve only pay straight pay above the cap, and not 2X. Also, tons of potential greenslips are covered with reserves now that ALPA gave the company a 14 hour window(unwritten, but it was a 3 hr window). Not to mention pilots getting rerouted like reserve pilots. The 14 hour window has had a huge impact on greenslips and whiteslips and ALPA gave it away like it was nothing.

WE get pretty good discounts on both Delta cargo and Delta Dash. You can research it via the DELTANET - don't know the exact location because it has been a while. I used Cargo last summer to ship a bike and it worked out great. Realize that your items will not go to baggage claim but the related cargo facility which may be a mile or two away.

If I remember correctly Delta Dash is basically the first available flight and has size restrictions to ensure the package fits. This should not affect you out of South Africa but could be a factor if you have a connecting flight in the US.

Delta Cargo was cheaper but not necessarily as speedy. Once you find the right page on the DELTANET you can look up each individual station and there was also a number to talk to somebody.
