Is it really that hard? IF you have a pass with 1P or 2P on it, and the agent tells you to take a seat, you still need to stop and check in because you are still technically a jumpseater. IF you get a pass with an actual seat number, you are a non rev. When you non rev with the family, do you stop and check in?
Not sure why guys try to make this harder than it is. |

Delta Air Lines begins seasonal nonstop from MSP to Iceland - StarTribune.com More international out of MSP is definitely a good sign. |

Heh. If not MSP crew, prolly NYC, they already fly JFK-KEF & vice versa. Given the timing of the flights it appears they intend to route one plane MSP-KEF-JFK and the other opposite. Interestingly Icelandair already flies MSP-KEF a couple times a week in the summer, also in a 757-200. I figured they were able to fill it with connecting traffic to continental Europe... I guess DL thinks there's enough traffic headed just to Iceland to justify a second flight to KEF.
Spent a week in Iceland this summer. Beautiful country, beautiful women, fun city in Reykjavik. |

I received the "Fix-it" emails from Delta this afternoon. From reading a bit back through the forums, does this imply they will offer an invite to interview? Have others out there received the "fix-it" email and never heard back?
Thanks |

CnBs.....Why do you make this job so hard?
You're gonna die way too early if you keep worrying about the minutae, minutia, er, BS! Unless you fly a Bondurante (?), you aren't going to crash cuz a jumpseater sat in the back, .........and "many" medical events? Really? Complying with the FOM is hard? Having etiquette is hard? I don't really think they are hard. Honestly going through life thinking rules don't apply to you or are optional seems far more stressful and hard to me. As a captain you know that every day 1Ps just head to the back with out checking in either because of bad gate agents or lack of knowledge about Delta's system. As a captain you also know that anytime a you a receive a "stay at gate for performance" message followed by a WDR showing a jumpseater that jumpseater must sit in the cockpit. I don't really give 2 $hips if the plane won't fall out of the sky. I follow the rule. Just like I know wearing a hat won't make a better pilot. I still wear it because it is a rule. Also I am sure you are aware that part of CRM is using all available resources to solve problems. If you don't readily know what resources are available to you then how can you use them? My original post was simply pointing out an error by another poster. If you don't find them useful that is your right, however your response makes you seem more like a child then a captain. |
