I've been assigned an OOB GS on Short Call. Seemed to work out well. I've also been called for a GS on long call, but with the new FAR 117 rules, you are NEVER legal to fly a GS out of LC (at least in base) for some reason. I literally got to the airport at 0200 and they called me to say that I wasn't legal for the GS. Did get suit up pay though :)
You can be legal for a lot of stuff while on LC that is for less than a 12 hour report. 117 makes some stuff illegal, but I've done a few GS's on LC with one short leg to an overnight. Doesn't pay much GS pay, but if you are going to get called the next day for something anyways.....might as well get a few hours of extra pay. |

You are correct on the OOB GS while on SC. Never thought of that scenario.

I regularly see all sorts of potential GS out of NYC go to ATL reserves. All it costs the company is 1 DH from ATL... |

I'm not disputing that it happened, but I just can't get my mind around an OOB GS while on SC. Why would the company pay you 2x to voluntarily fly a trip when they can just force you to do it for free?

Atlanta Parking
The Pilot Parking Information Guide for Atlanta says that I need a "WP Parking Decal" in order to gain access to the Campcreek Parking Lot. Is this the same decal I got during the sims from the office on the bottom floor of the building near the intersection of Delta Blvd and Airport Loop, or do I need to go to the CPO and get another parking decal?

They can't force you to show up at the airport 1 hour after calling you.

Isn't your picture fake, I mean really T-37's out in the Pacific defending Wake? Honestly though, many a good time on Wake island "training/fishing" trips from Hawaii! The 50cent beers always helped as well. |
