TEN

RA was never our friend regardless of what Moak and Donutbelli said. I wouldn't have felt guilty fighting with RA still here, but it will feel a lot better walking a picket line with Ed in charge.

So is this good, bad or indifferent? Forsee any issues for guys in the pool?

This is one opinion out of a possible 13,000 or so, but it's a bad situation gone worse. RA was a good politician but was guided by the same Wall St mentality that governs EB. Neither guy is truly a friend of the pilot group but now the pilot -management relationship will be more overtly adversarial. If you search back through some of the other threads on APC regarding EB, he's made some cringe-worthy public comments regarding his disdain for the pilot group. If I were a DAL poolie right now, I'd be a bit nervous about that option. Take a look at our current fleet and future fleet plans compared to the other legacies, then look at our outsourcing of premium international flying. Couple those things with what is shaping up to be a very adversarial relationship with management and that should give you an idea where we seem to be headed. I hope I'm proven wrong, but do think very carefully about your options if you're in the pool.

W.T.F is up with the SIDA changes? Will all flight crew now be required to go through KCM no matter what? Better expand KCM.

Looks that way. After the last SIDA renewal in SLC, I wasn't going to renew it again anyways now that we have KCM. It was almost a 2 hour ordeal and a complete joke. I'll gladly toss that badge back to them.

Sounds cool and all, but you don't really think this over-reaching government is going to let us strike do you?

Walking a picket line is different from being on strike. Some here know that.

Agree, get away from the bottom 10-20% as quickly as you can.

Rocky,

In my opinion the current DAL reserve system is the best that we have had in at least the last 16 years and probably one of the best in the industry.

But who cares about my opinion - lets look at what our peer DAL Pilots think.
There were times when the bottom 15% of Pilots in any category would pretty much all get reserve almost every month. Now reserve is spread throughout all seniority levels and it is not unheard of for the "plug" to get a line in some categories.

So if reserve is so bad now why are guys voluntarily bidding reserve?

I agree that our reserve system can be improved - specifically with regard to SC assignments and also requesting trips if one must fly. Is our system perfect - Hell No, but I think saying the process at DAL "suck(s) balls" is perhaps a bit too harsh.

Scoop :)

Being senior on reserve is a reasonably good deal! Junior? Not so much.

You can thank the TSA for this. Go read the Flt Ops weekly update. Explains the whole thing.
