Do you have one of the "HSA" health plans?
Delta pilot medical plan for me. |
Yes I have the gold plan. 2600 deductible and Tamiflu is a Tier 3 drug. Absolutely ridiculous.

Here is the Tamiflu coupon https://www.tamiflu.com/tamiflu-coup...wf1LyW13zzr.97 Ask your doctor if they have national in house pharmacy. Often times they now do with very discounted rates after they see what you plan paid. Also Walgreens CVS etc have discount clubs. GoodRX app will get it at $143. GoodRx Mobile FYI..... AA UAL and SWA all have drugs plans and Co-pays for less premiums than than we pay for a family high deductible HSA. |

I have a big family and I had that last year. I will never do that again.
Delta pilot medical plan for me. In a way, you are already pre-paying for tamiflu or other services with the delta pilot medical plan. If you save the difference between the HSA and the Delta pilot medical plan you should be netting at least $3000/year in excess funds in a tax free account. Check to see how the prescription plan works, as it might be applied to the deductible and then tiered pricing after that. If the deductible is $2600, everything after that should be 80%/20% until the out of pocket is met. With HSA's, prescription payments usually go towards the regular deductible and/or out-of-pocket max, while with traditional plans, they have to meet a separate out-of-pocket max. From those that I have talked to about HSA vs. regular plans, you almost always come out ahead with the HSA plan, if you save the difference in premium savings. Any left over for the year and subsequent ones, just puts you farther ahead.

When the company started to shift away from the drug plans this became the normal. More cost past to you. I kept a plan with the drug plans for this reason. Also because with the drug plans you can almost always get manufacturers coupons that cut the cost to down to $0-20 often times. However with out the drug plans these coupons don't work causing you a lot of out of pocket money.

Question for the Delta folks who are familiar with your current hiring pool/applicants.
Over at the Allegiant thread we've been discussing who is getting hired and where, and it was pointed out no one has been hired by Delta. Now we have a very small pilot group, but was curious if Allegiant pilots aren't applying, don't make the cut, or if between military and flows it's just not feasible yet. Thank you for your input TC |

Thank you for your input TC "Flows" make up a fairly small percentage each month. The last couple of years the military/civilian ratio has been more balanced than what Delta has done historically. My guess is because you have a small group it's just statistically smaller chance of anyone getting hired. |
