It's interesting that crew resources used the argument that commuters like 4- 5 day trips as justification to build them, but then builds non commutable 4-5 day trips, puts them in bases that are not predominantly commuter bases, and builds way more 4-5 day trips than there are commuters.

First and foremost, they supposedly build trips to keep credit time to a minimum, according to them. A quick glance at most categories trips though, I see a ton of deadheading. Also, they build un commutable 5 day trips no one wants and then have to break them up sometimes when they assign a reserve and have to deadhead a pilot out and in mid trip which increases credit time. I'm not smart enough to figure it out.

Not a latest and greatest post but can someone educate me and tell me what payrate I will be at during training when returning from loooong term leave? I will be returning to my old aircraft, 7ER and to a new base. I will require the full course and was wondering what rate I will be paid at (727/C 1st year pay...7ER/B 12 year pay? or something else?).

Thanks for the help,

AC

Also add any years of furlough if you had any. Bypass and/or personal leave I think doesn't count. Welcome back (unless LAX and senior to me.)

Baja.

Another casualty of the combination of 75/76 domestic with 7ER international. When they were separate and NY was all international, all trips were commutable. They added a little domestic in the winter to keep from displacing folks.

DAL should consider an A320 base in NYC (sarcasm here) so other bases don't have to fly trips with all NYC layovers.

Ok, I need some serious PBS reserve bidding advice. I'm on a regular line for April thru May 1. I need May 5,6,7,8 off. Obviously I'm trying to bid a regular line with them off and if I get it, all is good. But for a backup, I'm bidding a reserve line.

In my category, the min days on call is 4 days. Here is the question. Can I bid days off starting on May 5th or do I need to start them on May 2nd because there are only three days at the beginning of the month if I try to start them on the 5th? Thanks for any help!

Denny

Even the NYC 320 trips have NYC layovers.

Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

Trying to list for a Jumpseat on Spirit for my commute next week. Both the ALPA Jumpseat website and the Spirit "OAL Travel" website say I need a verification code provided by DAL... Neither the PSC or Duty Pilot have a clue what I'm talking about.

Anyone have experience with this? Willing to point me in the right direction?

The Dalpa website lists it under the JS committee section. Listing on them as early as possible got me home from NYC one night instead of having to buy a hotel room.

I was doing an OBGS last summer and got the late LHR arrival. My only shot at getting home was a Spirit flight out of LGA at 10:00pm. I listed for it on my way to work. Three nights later I walk up to the gate and there are 2 JB pilots waiting to js on the flight too. I checked in but the flight was completely full so I thought I was 3rd in line for the JS. When she called my name first I was shocked. She said I had listed first so the JS was mine. Unfortunately for the other guys, the AC only had 1 JS.

Listing on Spirit early is very beneficial. I don't know how many days out they accept OAL airline listings but it saved me $100 plus that night.
