We didn't "join", we were drafted!

Just got the new Pivot case. Holy smokes what a monster. Didn't know the Surface 3 rated global thermonuclear, chemical, and biological protection. If the acquisition people's intent was to protect the Surface, they should consider that intent fulfilled. However, I also think the people who bought this beast aren't going to be trying to fit it in a carry on everyday.

It's been added to the cockpit weapon list, it's my go to self defense accessory.

Seriously? You're having trouble fitting it in a carry on? It ain't that bad. It still beats carrying around a flight kit with all the Jepps etc. by a long shot.

And it sucks worse than an iPad. Merely an observation that the thing is double or triple the width of the original and that there is still room for improvement.

It is less convenient than not having a case at all. I suppose that will be a good trade for the mount not regularly falling off the window or even worse, the mount turning the surface off at extremely inconvenient times.

Perhaps this is the death throe of the surface. The LCAs I fly with told me Ed isn't married to M$ the way Richard was. I'm sure the ipads have their issues as well, but I can't imagine the "industry standard" could be such a flawed combination of hardware and software.

But, but, if we switch to the iPad, MS will take their corporate account to AS and UA, because they use iPads.

Wait what?

Ya know what, it's in all of our separate perspectives. Here's mine. (Even though you didn't ask for it. :)) When I first started "real" pilots didn't have roll aboard suitcases and also carried their flight kits full of jepps and manuals (to offset the suitcase). So when I hear "observations" like yours, I harken back to those days and say what we have now is a heck of an improvement. Certainly it can always get better but to say your having a hard time fitting it in your carry on..........I'll say start carrying the flight kit again. I'm sure you can fit in there and your flight kit will still be a lot lighter than it used to be...
