Heyas,
Well, the good news is if the MEC permits the 195 at Compass or other DCI, we'll all get furloughed, and we won't need to hear Bar complain about getting displaced anymore. Silver lining and all... Nu That's dam funny man. :D Bar, nothing but love for ya man, but I have to give this one to Nu. ;) |

There won't be any hiring at DAL mainline if this rumor is true. Posted on flightinfo.com.
"Spent some time the last two days working with a few union guys and company 4th floor types and this is what concerns me. The company wants to get a 100 seater on property badly. The ideal move is apparently to take the 195s and put them at Compass until the C-Series can be announced probably 3 years from now. The company says to the union it would only be temporarily and that then they would put them at mainline. The thought is that a better option would be available then(the C-series maybe) and for the time they could really take advantage of cost structure at Compass. The union is actually entertaining this idea. They feel that a solution can be negotiated and that these 100 seaters will by DAL's good graces come back over to mainline. Are we all naive enough to think that DALs execs will not find a way to never see a DAL seniority list pilot flying those? I cannot over emphasize the need to write every rep current and recently elected and to make sure they are telling the company NO!!! We all fly with guys who stay so far outta touch with this stuff because they think they are senior enough for it not to matter, but it will. Their quality of life will go down and make no mistake....Delta will furlough all the recent new hires if this happens. Lee Moak must hear your voice and it better be now or else I can guarantee that there will be alot of Delta Pilots without jobs very soon. Get to work guys, spread the word, and be heard!!! " I think it's time to start making some noise guys. If this is true, then we will have some serious problems at DALPA. |

Why does it seem that every control service is neutral in that picture; considering what's happening to the a/c?

Seriously folks. Log into ALPA.ORG, call and/or email your reps. This may be a bogus rumor, but take the time to let them know this type of thing is NOT ACCEPTABLE.

Anyone have an update on this? Just last month on Ed's online chat he said they would retire the 30/40's over the next 18 months. That would keep them flying through 2010, yes? Do you think they'll staff to have them gone, and just hire if they decide to keep them longer? Can they even plan that far out?:p

1) The computer thinks everything is fine, so there is no problem. 2) The pilots are working on their COR, and this will definitely require a pretty thoughtful COR. 3) It's not a helicopter: control surfaces are allowed to be in the neutal position. 4) All hands are being used to find ejection handles that aren't there. 5) Captain is steering only with the tiller, since they're going on a taxiway anyway. |

And you Northies stay away from warm weather bases, SLC and the 767. Skin cancer, mormons, and not really a widebody. You'll be much happier staying put and not dealing with training anyway.
