Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
They could send the standby to your flight, which might be late for a couple of minutes only to be on time. Making you spend the night in base, while the standby guy is enjoying your favorite layover.
The SC guy/gal will be assigned airport standby to cover the pilot who just got your layover.
That's the way regional operates and reserve guys get abused. I've been here only 6 months and this reserve system is fair, non stressful and 95% of the time I can commute my last day home.
Let's not try to fix what is not broken for a couple of bucks. There are more important things to negotiate.
[QUOTE=Scoop;2383330]Well maybe, but in 18 years of on and off reserve last month was the first time that I ever maxed out SC. I am of the opinion that it is directly related to guys not being in position when they were needed.
Just like sick call and MIL LV, we had very Pilot friendly programs in place until guys started pushing it - now we have much less Pilot friendly programs in place in these areas. It will be interesting to see what if any proposed changes we see in SC.

SC shoud pay 1 hr over the res guarantee if you do not get used for the SC. If you are getting paid 75 hrs and get 5 SC that you do not get called out on, you are at 80 hrs. We are sitting SC for free.
I thought we got this on the last contract, only to read closer, its only towards your hrs for the month that you will only go over once in a blue moon.
They max us out b/c its free for the company and cuts down on GS.

Most days all rsv pilots are on SC. Even 1 day guy/gals.
We do have SC buckets that are in the PWA. Once everyone has 2 SC. Everyone is on SC. The change from 3-2 on the buckets hurt us and helped them.

Also, I found out this month. If you have vacation and bid rsv.
Your vacation days count as days on call that go towards the Chart in the PWA on how many SC you can have in the month. How does vacation days count as days on rsv? Bottom line they still get 5 SC out of you instead of 3 on a vacation rsv month. This adds 1 extra 4 day, maybe 2.

VB's are voluntary, are they not? I'm not advocating ANY of these SC ideas, but the company will apparently agree to voluntary systems that they can benefit from.
I did the training, and was hoping for a tip. I always had "N/A" displayed instead of altitude (above the zulu time) in the blue box on the bottom right corner. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
I thought I saw you're doing some beta testing which hopefully means they listen to your inputs. Perhaps you could pass this along, it is frustrating when DAL tells us "make sure you read XYZ" but then don't hotlink it. All the info we need is there on Deltanet but it is extremely burdensome finding it in a timely manner.

They are voluntary until you bid it two months prior. At that point the company knows the manning situation is firm and can build the rotations accordingly. Absolutely no different than any other base. Even given that the VB's will be of little use to the company. They have really leaped all over starting them up! Didn't I have a bet with someone about that?

You get N/A in the place of the altitude when showing cloud tops. Turn on turbulence instead of cloud tops and you'll see N/A go away.

I'll try to pass that on. I think you can also submit an FCR with your input.
Hockeypilot44 is absolutely right. To add onto his post a little more, it shows N/A because the clouds are height and as such there's no profile view like the turbulence display.
This goes for anyone else reading this post, if you have future ideas or complaints about any of the apps, feel free to PM me with the feedback and I can relay them to the people running the beta testing.

Vacation in a reserve month is ussually a good deal. Everything is pro-rated and you make more $$$.
Once you get your schedule it will show the pro-rated number of Short calls that you may be assigned.Use the reserve calculator to figure out exact number of X days, golden days, hours of pay etc. The reserve calculator is available in PBS - I think on the PBS info page or you just google John F Bell - the very smart guy that created the calculator has his own website that has all kinds of goodies for DAL guys including:
A flight plan translator -- with sortable NOTAMs
seniority calculator
Reserve calculator
It's like Christmas for geeks.
