To be awarded a green slip while on a reserve day (long call and less than 12 hours to report), is that a GS or a GSWC? TIA!

More GS questions. I have read and think I get it but want to be sure I understand. I wouldn't mind flying a GS the week of Thanksgiving Sunday-Wednesday. I just want to make sure I am not missing anything. Is there anytime a GS can be awarded without me answering the phone or logging into icrew and accepting it? For example I have in my pref to award 1-3 day GS. I don't have the award if in sim or on duty box checked. What I don't want to happen is to get a 2 or 3 day GS assigned to me on wed. I have read some things about some GS or maybe it was WS not being proffered but being assigned. Just want to avoid getting burned.
Am I missing something here? Just put Sunday - Wednesday in your GS template. They will not award you a GS outside of your requested dates. If you want to be selective about accepting a GS within your parameters, just let it go to voicemail and check your message ASAP and decide if you want it. If its within the days you are requesting a GS - it is not a proffer, but they can't force a GS on you outside of your request - that is a whole different animal that goes by the name of inverse assignment. Scoop |

That is GS #1 for the month and you go to the back of the list. Think long and hard before accepting one of these especially if it flies over all your on call days. You can burn your GS #1 for a measly few hours of GS pay and then sit back and watch guys way junior to you pick up 3 and 4 day Greenies on your off days. Ask me how I know this. On the other hand if its late in the month and you only have on call days left it might be worth it. Scoop |

No GSWC's on Reserve. You get paid the block time for that day above guarantee with no PB day. If it is just a 1-day you get the credit. If its more than a one day you don't get the credit unless the trip ends on a day off.

Scoop If I start a 3-day GS on my last Res day of a string and fly into two X days, though, it's all straight above guarantee...and I either get 2 PB days or two Res days that month dropped, right? |

Good to know! Not many GS in my category at the moment... unlikely to get one at all unless an IROP hits.

Be very vigilant about making sure Scheduling places the PB days on your schedule or in your bank. Do NOT let Scheduling place them in the following month. (They tried to do this to me earlier this year) They can be very valuable if in your PB day bank. As a side note, a PB day can be moved just like an Xday using the same “Leave Request” template you use to move Xdays. The only exception is if you have a PR day at the end, it won’t do it. Denny |

But the safe bet is to let it go to voicemail. You can view the rotation in icrew without acknowledging while scheduling is leaving the message. If you like the trip, you can acknowledge it via icrew without ever speaking to a scheduler. The only risk with this approach is if the trip is less than 3 hours to report they don’t have to put it on your line or give you 10 minutes to mull it over. They just leave the message and call the next person in line. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Didn't we have this GS discussion a few months ago?
