Anything that they've lost, everyone else has lost too. Also, that doesn't take away the responsibility of selling scope.

You're right. Funny how things work out.

That makes no sense at all, most of the guys that lost their pensions were not involved with scope. Comair had a few Bandits and plinked around the Midwast when those guys retired. Jeez.......

You got Jack squat for it, it was all the attorneys, executives, investment bankers, airplane manufactures, and the people in oil paintings that got the cash.

So the S3A code is restricted to 9E pilots going to work? S3C for family and leisure travel? Sort of like our ability to select S2 or S3 at check in? Asking because I do t know. If so, seems reasonable.

Work only, right? Because this is about 9E pilots going to work... Right?

Just because mainline created the regionals and the road to a major job is tougher then it used to be, doesn't mean I should never have joined the industry. The industry just is what it is, now, thanks to mainline management and its pilots' agreements of the past.

It's just interesting to see the animosity towards regional guys for "celebrating" when they are finally thrown a bone by management, since it was management and mainline pilots together that created the regionals in the first place. No one is out to take away mainline benefits and screw your retirees (even if they screwed everyone else). No regional pilot group has the ability to do so. Any unpleasantness regarding flight benefits should be directed towards management.
I've got no animosity to a group, but I don't care for individuals who like to throw around uneducated comments at a group of people they'd like to join. The road to a major is easier now, and I truly wish you well in your career goals, but you might consider shedding the attitude; it won't serve you terribly well.

Its pretty easy to look back 20 years and criticize mistakes in hindsight. You act like the Pilots at the time have all the knowledge we have now looking back. It was all new and unknown back then. RJs were brand new, most mainline Pilots did not even know what an RJ was back then. The level of Scope awareness that most Pilots have today simply did not exist back then. But I suppose if you were around then none of this would have happened.

This whole mainline Pilots sold Scope for pay raises like Dick Dastardly snickering away in some back room deal is pretty foolish. Management took mainline Pilots to the cleaners - I'm sticking with ignorance and naivete.

You keep bringing up how mainline Pilots traded away Scope but don't forget we also traded away our pensions, our 6th and 7th week of vacation, LOT bidding etc, in other words most of that stuff was outright taken.

I completely agree that I am Monday-morning quarterbacking. That doesn't make what I'm saying about the sold scope incorrect. If the quarterback makes a mistake, he should own it and make sure not to make it again. Blaming the rest of the offense for his mistake is childish.

No attitude here, looks like you are the one upset about someone having a discussion and stating obvious facts. Why don't you just relax.
