Quick question.
I have a trip at the end of April that carries over into May. I convert to my new base in May. Is the company obligated to give me positive space back to my new base then?

New hire hotel
What’s the case with new hire hotels? I hear Indic is paid for but the rest isn’t? Any reason? Any suggestions on best place to stay?

Reason? It’s always been that way because 1) the pilot union doesn’t fight to get it added to the contract, because it doesn’t effect the other 99.69% of pilots, and 2) the company doesn’t feel like it’s preventing them from getting high caliber folks to apply, so why spend the money if they don’t have to.
Where to stay? Hotel or crashpad...depends on how much you can afford. If you don’t bring a car, highly recommend your hotel has shuttle service...the Virginia Ave area is not the safest place to be after dark.

Wonder why they are doing the 88/90 at all.
Hotel is paid for during two weeks of Indoc. You cover your own lodging during the approx 4 weeks of aircraft initial Qual training.

Almost all correct. In the old days, the pilot paid for all lodging including indoctrination. This should have been corrected the last contract. It was in TA1 and dropped out of the talks at the end to be addressed at later time. I believe it will be fixed this contract.
I would love for it to be fixed this contract for the sake of our new hires, but I don't think it makes the short list of things the MEC is looking to get....hope I'm wrong!
