I'm happy to "pay" for new hire hotels with a quid pro quo, although I accept I'm probably in a (growing?) minority. It's the right thing to do for the newbies and I'd like to leave things better than I found them. Of course the company should just do it, but they haven't. Let them show their hand what we have to pay to get our newest and lowest-paid union brethren compensated like almost any other career on earth (not to mention like most other carriers I know), by the most profitable carrier around. Let it be known how management nickel and dimes such things; it'll offset the false narrative that the company takes care of their "family" and blunt the sting a newbie gets the first time his CPO experience isn't what was advertised during indoctrination.

Thirded. We make them shell out a good chunk of change for a place when they probably can’t spare much then evade around Virginia Ave looking food at all hours. It’s a ****ing contest between management and ALPA I’m sure.
Yep, make it so. It seems we have plenty of buildings/land around campus never understood why we can't just create our own hotel/suites for training.
Can we please fix our own hotel situation on VA Ave first? The three hotels we use for training are horrendous. The new hire FAs get the brand new suites at the Residence Inn... Could we also replace "downtown" with a mutually acceptable and hotel committee vetted "nice area" language in the contract? Such as: beach in LA, Brooklyn in NY, beach in Tampa... Detroit for crying out loud? Atlanta... can we stay in Buckhead instead of downtown?

There’s a vacant building which I’m told is owned by Delta 1 block north of VA Ave. It’s 3-4 stories high and with a little love and care could easily be turned into a pilot dorm building of sorts. Given the volume of training coming down the pipe, I would think that would be a better use of the company’s money. One that could also turn a profit after we pass our big training years of they sold it. It’s just past the Marriott Courtyard on the left.

CQ Question
For May, my category shows 18 "Must Go" for CQ but only 16 training patterns listed:
1) What happens to the 2 Must Go's if they dont go?
2) I myself am a "May Go"....so 99.69% chance I won't be going in May?

I would say if you don't want to go - you will go. If you want to go - you won't. At least that is how is has always worked for me including this cycle as I am an "early" with about a .000001% of going.
Seriously though, I doubt you will go. But that brings up another question - why aren't they front loading CQ prior to the summer crunch? My category has 10 must go and only 11 slots. Seems like plenty of guys will enjoy June and July in Atlanta.
Oh well, as a wise man once said - "Mongo only pawn in game of life."
