Warm or Cold? Cold... more to do with their staffing. The parking of the 9's isnt helping though. |

Let's go to Guam, it's a low hanging fruit. With the increased presence of US military, the total population of Guam is expected to increase by 25% by 2014. CAL is pulling back so let's go get it!

Bar; I had actually heard a little different version. What I heard was that GUM was an emerging opportunity since air micronesia (CAL) was in pullback mode and DAL saw that as an opportunity to fill the void. Additionally, the GUM operation would dovetail well with asia hub operations. The GUM as fallback (to NRT) option was something I have only seen in this thread. FWIW, it doesn't mean I heard correctly, but what I have posted makes more sense to me. ---- I am still interested in hearing ACL's surprise in the AE. None of my contacts have any idea what it might be - if anything. A PM would be nice so I can rebalance my displacement preferences. scambo

Scambo,
I've heard the same and just to add, the other NRT rumor is that we need to fill freighter slots, ergo 737s for really small markets that Cal is pulling back from. Interesting times out here, Ferd

CAL is pulling back, and they arent in SKYTEAM anymore therefore DAL has lost its feed and codeshare ability in GUM. This is a great time for us to ramp up GUM and set up shop.
