About a decade ago, a friend in college let me borrow her car for a holiday weekend that I was spending alone in L.A. It was a 1998 Mazda Miata, with sun-stained crimson paint and a janky cloth convertible top that squeaked on the freeway……

There was never a 1998 miata sold in North America. They skipped from 1997 to 1999 with the redesign. They were sold as 1998's in some European markets.
Kinda like saying you have a 1983 Corvette.

You could get either a '97 or the redesigned '99 with limited slip diff. Not quite Positraction but close.

Can't say enough good things about him

I used his dad for almost 20 years, sad when he passed away a few years ago. Saw his son for a few visits while Sr. was still around, seemed like a nice enough guy.

fwiw, “positraction” is just a GM brand name for limited slip differentials.

I still contend I owned a 1983 Corvette. It was #239 of the C4 series. In an effort further confuse the situation, it was a power top convertible.

Even if it did, how could you be so sure?
