NOE
I finished my LOE check and it appears I will not get OE on my pre posted shadow bid days. And now next month my schedule (reserve line) just changed to NOE for the entire month. I placed my X days on days I want off like Thanksgiving. My question is do the OE planners have to honor my X days after my shadow period ends? And what is my phone responsibility on X days while NOE?
Thanks in advance! |

I failed my initial ATP checkride in a freaking Seminole of all things. DME Arcing with the turn 10, twist 10 was my nemesis.. I'd always done it with an RMI (instrument training in the Military, and anything I've done IFR with civilian wise had one)
Hired by Delta 3 years later. Between that and Delta, I did get 3 type ratings and pass my ATP in conjunction with my 737 type. Everyone screws up. Some worse than others. Learn from it and learn how to explain how you learned from it. And, if at all possible, teach others to make new, different bonehead mistakes and not repeat yours. Old school checkrides included the risk of being pushed out of a Navy Flying Club (aka POS) aircraft at 4000 feet. The NTSb would have found the probable cause "an unfortunate accident." The M'fer passed me. |

Unfortunately the planners will cackle evilly and remind us that when we put in an AE preference different from our current BES, we certify that we have literally nothing going on in our lives in the next 210-365 days.

NOE
Thanks for the answers on NOE.
I guess I might as well put all my X days at the end of the month and maybe get some PB days out of it. |

Nerd hat off, I’m still scarred by my type ride in the airplane when the DPE didn’t like my NDB approach where I stopped the descent 30’ above MDA and held it there. Jetstream 3100, 2am, hand flown (naturally, because there’s no autopilot in a Jetstream) into KEVV on a high speed layover. He said one day I might need that 30’ to get in instead of going around. No pink slip, just a redo. For everyone born after 1980 - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Britis...pace_Jetstream https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-directional_beacon |
