I've had success asking for a hotel room just under 5 hours. Contractually they don't have to but I've had success. Last time was 4:40 scheduled but we got in early for a 4:56 turn.

Same, especially for any kind of prolonged mx delay. MX says likely a 4 hours fix...ya, I've seen this play out before, we want a room. We got them no questions asked. Fix took 6 hours...

Technically it’s > 5 hours, so 5:01

PWA 5.E.1.d "...scheduled for block-in to block-out of more than five hours“

Had a rotation about two weeks ago with a just under 5 hour sit in MIA. We asked for hotel…told no. Asked duty pilot, he told us to go hang in the FA lounge.

Huh....the nice part is that you already had the duty pilot on the phone which saves that second call when you bang in fatigued. 😁

Bingo. I haven’t understood why the company is fighting us on things like DH and crew meals and hotels. If we are fed, watered and rested there is a lot we can do to help when the operation goes bad.
