Just heard a bad rumor.Dl will be cutting capacity even more and it will include an Intnl reduction from this summers capacity. We might start seeing cancellations on this upcoming AE.BOHICA

Look for some Northern Europe stuff to go Bye Bye. Yields stink.

That's not a good rumor... Hopefully, we'll be adding flying in other areas to make up some of the cuts.

That was the plan. We will see what the new new plan is when it is finalized. There are lots of changes going on. Those Boeing delivery delays are really messing with next summers schedule. If this thing passes they may be able to have them in time for the summer schedule. That is a good thing.

Alarming Drop for September International Traffic

No international cuts would come of much of a surprise, I think.

Hopefully that Boeing TA goes through and the planes come out of the factory ASAP.

And countries stop going bankrupt. :(

WOW! That article has some pretty scary figures for international traffic. Not good.

We have seen a recent sharp decline in future bookings. We will see where all of this goes.

That is not what was put out by management last week. Domestic bookings are strong. International is off a couple of percent but more then offset by the decrease in fuel.

Ed Bastian (Oct 23, 2008 1:37:04 PM)
I share your concern about the economy, but I can also tell you we have not yet seen any significant fall-off in our
forward bookings. As you know, we have already reduced roughly 14% of our domestic capacity over the last year
and that is serving to firm our advanced load factors. So I think domestically, we are in pretty good shape.
Internationally, we are watching closely and have seen a modest slow-down (2 - 3 points) and will make certain to
adjust downward that capacity if the economy really does deteriorate. That all said, the reduction for us in the price
of oil more than off-sets some of the revenue softness we are seeing. So, Delta should be in good shape navigating
a challenging 2009.

Yes, and go back and ask them this week. It is very recent.

In essence everyone has gone to ground. Something is up. I promise you that.
