No it didn't - I lost 5 hrs pay, 2 yrs seniority, got displaced for another 30% pay cut and now pay more for medical, never mind the hit I'll take in retiree medical costs. Wooo Hoooo! But I can be a character actor in Das Boot, and I have a new found sense of arrogance out of proportion with my position ;)

Ahhh... my big butt, a wide first class seat in a 757, internet, espn college football, food, wondering whats up with Urban Meyer, AC/DC on the retro rewind while I set the tivo from directv.com to tape USC's pending loss tonight and an hour left in the flig...
Whoops. Meant to put this on facebook... nah, they'd never appreciate not having to deadhead in 38E. :D |

DID you not get pay protected.
and that has nothing really to do with going from 75 to 70 hours guarantee ;) none of this really matters anymore anyway so lets move on |

Well, if you do get sent to an overstaffed airplane with a surplus bid you'll enjoy it. The DC9 is a fun airplane.
It is possible with the contract |
That brings up a question, in the regional world if the airline announced they were parking a fleet type then you got seat locked on it and it could last for years. We had B1900D pilots at XJT that were seat locked for 2-3 years on that thing because they'd never let anyone off while they hired and upgraded everyone else into the other fleet.
So for those of us who were not here on the DALS side as the 732s, 727s, L1011s, 733s were parked, do they seat lock pilots on it? Do they make it a raw deal (XJT) or do it right (let people bid on and off)? |
