PURPLE = The mixing of near equal amounts of red & blue. (The arbiters did refer to it as a "merger of equals".)

We all work for the same company, and here shortly will have the same call sign on all of our flights. Let's try a novel idea and compete against our external competition, instead of causing internal competition and resultant inefficiencies.

Now we know why you want Purple.

Ferd <--------Roger Starback blue, never Jerry Jones blue

We could just be known as "black noses" for the south (old paint scheme) and "bowling shoes" for the north. :)

Or, NERDs and grits....

All joking aside, I absolutely agree. We have no reason for seperate "books" here just by virture of the way the integration was done and the fact that we are basically equals.

Any bets on how many "North...er...um...Delta" callsigns we here on the days following the changeover?

The AFA was handing out purple ribbons in AMS last year. Red + Blue = Purple. I thought it was so sweet.

By the way, the AFA still owes me the drink they said they would buy me for knowing the answer to the question of why the ribbon was purple:D

Agreed +1

In terms of the one issue that truly lies between us; fences. Five years is just enough time to cause another uproar when they go down. In five years one would hope the shifting is over. Down come em fences and ppl start to move once again. Of course most of it will be masked by retirements.

I see my Northern Brethren no different than my Southern buddies. In fact many of the guys on the North used to be my coworkers.
