I know there are. It's a big mess to clean up, I'm sure. But, with the right strategy put in place to change the way elections are held and how it is run, it can be done.

Alpa sucks. So, let's fix it and not just complain about it.

I noticed that our very own KBF, retirements and benefits specialist is on this list. I thought DALPA paid her salary. But I learned something new.

She is an exceptional case on the list in that she isn't paid near enough money. For the value that she provides us as a group, she should be paid a lot more. Plus, she has to regularly put up with Slowplay and that should be worth something more in the paycheck.

+ 1. Right on. Why not just find a group of people to fix what's wrong with ALPA?

I agree. And there are many others who agree with you. Some are actually working to make that happen; albeit not as fast as you'd like. ;)

OK - I get it now. Your strategy is an illegal job action. Excellent.

How'd that work the last time a pilot group (APA) tried it? At least the $44m ALPA settlement will be spread among an organization with 50,000 pilots and deeper pockets, as opposed to the $45m judgement against APA with 10,000 pilots and no pockets.

Good thinking there, bigdaddie. I hope you're never in charge. I won't be able to afford all of the "benefits" your negotiating style is going to send my way.

I thought you might think I was implying an illegal job action but I was not. And yes I am very aware of the APA sick-out fine.

As far as me being in charge, not a chance. If you were in charge I see that there would be no difference as you seem content with the direction our current MEC is taking. Good for you. You can sleep at night knowing we've done the best we can and mommy (Delta) will make sure we get our warm milk before we go to sleep.

Keep drinking the Kool-Aid man, you'll get a gold star from RA any time.

Be careful what you wish for. It sucks as pilots but for the broader American Public, the RLA is like oil to the economic engine. Without it our transportation industry would be at the mercy of some very powerful and not very altruistic entities. Imagine the costs of goods and services without a reliable just in time inventory centered transportation system. Imagine the opportunity cost of goods and people sitting idle because they can't get where they need to be because of a strike by transportation workers.

Now one could argue that since deregulation and the explosion of competition in the air transportation industry whether we belong under the RLA. That I might agree with but abolishing it altogether, no.

Sure. Anything for the cause. I can try to make my money back elsewhere.
