If it takes into account legs.... say up to 9 hours with 2 legs and no sit... I can see it.

I'm much more fatigued deadheading 4.5 hours out to someplace and then having to fly 4 hours back than just flying both legs.

Our union is a bunch of bullcrap.

WHY hasn't Alpa started a media blitz regarding fatique?

WHY aren't they handing out fliers to passenger as they leave the airport?

WHY isn't there a handy dandy email / website campaign like Delta has for the LGA gate swap?

Sure, they created a website for this DeMint legislation. Boo woo ... woopie freaking doo. Our voices might get recorded (no, I don't agree with it, but there are WAY more pressing issues).

I'm seriously beginning to think our Union is a puppet for the airline industry and they have their hands in the cookie jar.

These issues aren't rocket science. And they've been slow, if not failed to react to and/or support our concerns.

Why in the heck do I pay dues? So we can get some stupid administration that I didn't vote for into office? So they can get their own internal kickbacks from the administrations? Crazyness.

What 80, you don't find the middle seat out to LAX with no meal and then a 40 minute turn to operate the LAX-JFK flight refreshing?:D

KC10;;
Suggest it and see what their response is.

I am guessing because they will wait to see what the final findings are on the Colgan crash from the NTSB. They were ALPA pilots and fatigue tied with a commute is just a boat load of Pandora's Box that you (not you since you do not commute, you in the general sense) do not want to open.

It is kind of like putting nails in your own coffin.

It is the turns to Caribbean that are going to get killed. Those will be done by two not four guys.

I know. I just flew with a guy last week who is in the top 30 and does nothing but day turns. Eight a month. Talk about a cherry line. I might retire if I were him when they take those away. Nothing else will compete.

Those turns to the Caribbean are not fun. I have yet to get first class on the deadhead leg, and I've done about 5 turns so far. I always deadhead down and fly back though. The crew deadheading back has been in first a couple times. Not getting first class is one thing, but not getting fed is what really sucks. Some of the places, they don't make you go through the island's customs since it's a turn so you never make it into the airport. It turns into a 14 hour day without eating. How is that safe? These things seem petty, but getting first class on deadheads is what used to make the job fun. Sitting in a middle seat across the country in uniform while on duty is degrading and embarrassing. It just shows the passengers how little Delta cares about its pilots.

I heard they are giving all DH pilots an aisle seat if its domestic now. Anyone else hear that?
