From what I was told, no pilots will be offered early outs. They see a need for us and it is harder to train us, thus no one gets to leave early

I'm glad they see a need for us.:D I'm also impressed that our management team can see that sometimes furloughs are the more expensive way to go. Do you suppose that if things don't turn around, they may provide early outs to pilots?

Big legal word for we can do what every we want (the Company). Furlough proctection clauses are nothing more than the illusion of a nice reach around. That has been proven in the past and will be proven once again at DAL.

"excuse me Flo?....(snicker)....what's the Force Majeur?"

"It's the soup of the day."

"Ummmmmm that sounds good, I'll have that."

I only have about 10 pilots below me out of 12,434...

So, I have a question....

Am I going to get furloughed or what?

WAIT!!! Don't answer that!!! I don't think I'm going to like the answer! :)

If I'm interpreting the hints correctly, we could see some flow downs, but NOT furloughs. Will we see some 75/767s parked? If I understand the arbitators ruling correctly, that would result in 1:1 furloughs IF WE WERE FURLOUGHING. However, at this point in time we will not be furloughing. So I'm wondering how this would work. Will they just be DAL 757s, thereby resulting in displacements on the DAL side? If so, then guys could flow down to Compass, right?

Anyway, according to a very good source you're NOT going to get furloughed, but you might have to flow back. Would you be willing to do Compass?

I'd love to fly the E175, heard its a fantastic plane. I'd love to have a job if furloughed. I wish it was in DAL bases too though. :o

I'm assuming I'd have to start on first year F.O. pay at Compass and at the bottom of the list... So, No, I wouldn't go to Compass. There's no way in "you know what" that I'd commute across the country for 24 bucks/hour! If I could flow down into a Captain spot... SURE! Do they type F.O.'s? Might be a handy type to have!

It doesn't make much sense that they would not offer early out incentives, yet would be willing to flow guys back to Compass. That's a huge expense.

Most at Compass were just typed within the last year or so, now they might be replacing almost the entire 300 or so pilots with flow backs.

It doesn't make a lot of sense to just flow a few guys back. If the reduction was less than a couple hundred, it would almost be cheaper to keep paying them at DAL than to assume the training expense. Not to mention the training at Compass has been quite inefficient and it's been taking longer than planned to get guys on line.

I think the only way it's beneficial to flow guys back is if there is either a very large furlough or they plan on it being a very long and protracted furlough.

Please don't misunderstand me, I know that they HAVE to offer the Compass seats to the furloughed DAL/NWA guys. I'm just saying that I think that if there's a flow back, it's probably going to mean a pretty big furlough. I hope not.

Thoughts?

Yeah, I understand that. I'm sure it would easier if you could stay in ATL. Heck, I hope you can make it up here. I was in MSP yesterday and it was -18C! I'm not sure you ATL guys could handle that.;) :D

I don't know how you guys got to this topic of furloughing, but if you get furloughed, you can flow down to Compass based on your seniority and as a CA, if I am not mistaken. So you would be getting Compass CA pay.
