I thought we already had that in our contract?

I think that it previously only applied to Reserves on long call...

That is an improvement. Think of all the times you were flown past 6pm on your last day of reserve with the next day inviolate

I believe it now says SHORT CALLS are also released at noon on the last day if not used. Thats the change

I don't think this will matter much.... I have not once (that I can recall) had a SC day on my last day of reserve...

LC pilot is free from obligation after 1200 LCL on their last day of reserve.

What this LOA 22 does is stops them from assigning SC past 1200 LCL on your last fly day prior to a mil leave day, start off day or alpa leave. It will not apply to a normal X day.

You will see SC on your last day of reserve in niche categories like the LAX 73N etc. It normally does not happen in large categories since there are plenty of WS requests that more than make up for that need.

Short call pilots (domestic and international):
1. Will now be released no later than 1200 on their last day prior to a hard non-fly day (e.g. golden day or military leave) and,
2. Crew Scheduling will make every reasonable effort to schedule multiple consecutive short call periods if a pilot requests them. A pilot whose request for back to back short calls is denied may ask Crew Scheduling for the reason for such denial. If you are not satisfied with the explanation, you may wish to contact the MEC Scheduling Committee.

I might be wrong, but I believe a HARD non-fly day is not the same as just having an normal off day (Probably the reason for the examples).

So it only has any value to guys with military commitments, or union guys, on reserve? I thought it was a modest gain before, now it seems even less useful.

Just heard the AE is done. It is sitting on the ALPA desk awaiting their blessing.

Wonder how long that takes?
