Shouldn't it be worn on the middle finger, so when we display our ring we are also sending the correct message?

Normally, we only use both engines when we are taxing out and in so we can *keep it cool. *

Inflight, on one engine, is where we make up for that and get REAL fuel savings..... * :D

*My understanding was you had one engine at full power and the other in full reverse, just to see what would happen. But if you want to say it's fuel savings efforts that's fine, where you go I go.*

We only did that once. I didn't think anyone caught it on film. Damn paparazzi.

damn Red Baron.

You'll get him, newK. The one threat to a DC-9 captain: someone flying a tri-wing WWI fighter with machine guns.

Superman had his Lex Luthor

Batman had his Joker

And DC-9 pilots have their Red Barons
(better known as ex-wives) :D

I answered some of the questions above in red.

I could be wrong but I don't think a GS is a pro-offer if it is less than 12 hours unless you have put in a caveat that you need 12 hr notice. I believe it is your trip. With that being said the following is from "When Scheduling Calls" :

What If I Do Answer the Phone on an Off Day?
A pilot’s obligation to accept a trip on X-days or regular line off days is
not absolute, whether the trip is the result of a White Slip (same day or
next day), Yellow Slip, Green Slip, or Inverse Assignment. A variety of
circumstances might make accepting such a trip impossible. For example:
Not being physically located so as to be able to report.

Having consumed alcohol.
Lack of available child care.

Lack of available transportation.

Not being adequately rested. For example:

o
A pilot, not on call, notified late at night of an immediate report should consider if he is sufficiently rested to accept such an assignment.

o
A pilot is not required to accept an inverse assignment that requires a commute that would prevent adequate rest for the assigned trip.

Be polite but be insistent. If necessary, call your Chief Pilot.

The way I read it, it's your trip unless for some reason such as the above you cannot make it.

Denny
