I heard the exact same thing.

When both sides are unhappy, then everyone got treated fairly

I've been in the front of around 12 airbuses with DAL-N crews over the past couple of months. Only ONE crew has done a single engine taxi. The last one I rode on was in SLC. It took them almost 30 minutes to get out to the runway (everything was backed up) and they ran both engines all the way out.

Did you ask them why they were not doing single engine taxi's?

Nope. I'm just catchin' a ride so it's not my place. I've been really tempted, though. Now if I were the F.O. on the flight, I'd definitely be saying something.

Just to be sure I understand reroute pay.

I was scheduled to fly HNL-ATL and 90 minutes later deadhead ATL-DTW.

BUT the flight from HNL-ATL was delayed by 2 hours because the inbound was late

The resulting delay caused a change to the rotation that added a ATL layover of almost 24 hours and a deadhead ATL-DTW on the next calendar day after the original rotation scheduled release.

Am I entitled to reroute pay for the deadhead leg?

A rerouted regular pilot who is not scheduled to release within four hours of the
scheduled release of the last duty period of his original rotation, or within the same
calendar day of the last duty period of his original rotation, whichever is later, (the “time
limitation”) will receive single pay and credit (or the applicable pay, no credit for a GS,
GSWC, IA or IAWC) for the rotation as flown, plus half pay no credit for any duty
period(s) that extends beyond such time limitation.
OR does Exception one covering mechanical on pilot's aircraft apply (there was no mechanical on the outbound, but the inbound was late)

OR does Exception two apply:
The time limitation will be 30 hours for an international category pilot when rerouted into, or while in, trans-oceanic operations.

I am a FNWA 320 FO and I agree with you. Way too many captains I fly with want both engines started right away after push and leave them running all the way to the gate after landing....even in busy airports like ATL, ORD, JFK and LGA. I am always prompting them to see if they want me to shut one down after landing. Some take the hint....some don't. Many act like as if the 320 is a wide-body...they believe it takes two engines to taxi that thing and are afraid of higher jet blast from single engine taxi. (I don't think a 320 has ever blown over anything bigger than a bag cart in history). We have to spread the culture of single engine taxi across the board.

Sure....I want to ask for a big fat payraise (at least restore what we lost) in the next contract. One the same hand, I want to do the best to save the company money from the aircraft operations side (without compromising safety of course).

Waiting for all this talk to get to the point about how fNWA got screwed when Pepsi was replaced with Coke.
