I don't see why not. Who needs coffee when you can wake up doing a walk around in -30 degrees windchill? :D

LOL. No doubt. Maybe I'll start wearing my jacket this winter since all I seem to fly these days are DTW, MSP and BDL. I sure do miss my CUN, MSY and FLL.

Would that be senior guys or junior guys or just a good cross section of guys?

Is it really that bad? I guess I am about to find out in the next couple of months..

24hr short call is the biggest downside of intl reserve. You are legal for domestic and intl the first 12, then intl only the last 12.

Just think of it as global cooling, or maybe just 'climate change'. :p

At least the scenery is beautiful in the fall. I love flying to the NE in October. The trees are gorgeous. :)

Granted...its funny once or even twice, but it stopped being funny a long time ago. I'm pretty sure there are plenty of Navy guys (as well as pure civvie, army, CG, fNWA, fDAL, SWA, regional pilot and any other pigeon hole you prefer) that are just as annoyed. I like pics just as much as the next guy, but if you aren't tech-savvy enough to post a reasonably sized pic, post a link or skip the pic.

Uh oh. You called me an idiot. For this, I present you a moment in the AF: :D

I drive to JFK and can sit short call at home but I've had enough of reserve, Africa and Georgetown so I bid off to the 737. I think it was the right decision for me.

Is that an F-22?

Can we start putting RJ's on the side of 88s? :D

All I can say, as an Auburn fan, is that I'm glad there are no more teams to play from South Carolina. Two weeks in a row is a bit much.

I've been commuting to reserve since April 08. It's not impossible, but the longer the commute the harder it can be. Midwest to DTW/MSP isn't hard on reserve. You just need to know your work rules & contract, & know them well. The schedulers do push things IMO, but if you know you're correct & stand your ground they'll back off. It's happened lately IMO because certain fleets are understaffed. If your wondering about my comment related to the 7er, it's just more sticky because it's a domestic & international category so it's more complicated. Whitlow doesn't apply to international flying, so scheduling can do things that they can't do to a domestic guy, & it's easy to mix that stuff up IMO.

Don't sweat it, it's doable. I'm just getting tired of it. :o

I am very familiar with commuting to reserve... I am in a class behind you at FNWA. I will much rather do a 24 hour short call than commute up to DTW for a PIT turn.

FWIW, talking to a buddy that was ATL 767 B on reserve living in base, he bid off and started commuting after he was being used "every day" but coming up with 69 hours of credit. So I think thats not every day but the point is it was a lot of work that he found 73N NYC commuting a better deal.

I like 88 ATL reserve, the money hurts, but the lifestyle has been good for me.
