I see only downside, in terms of seniority, for the Delta pilots in a merger with AK. I am sure there would be short term fences for the widebodies. Many Delta pilots will have AK pilots slotted in senior to them. Those AK pilots currently have no rights or ability to fly a widebody. The only way to protect the career progression of the Delta pilots would be career long fences, and I really don't see that happening.

Question on PCS for you guys, I guess this probably would be better directed at a crew scheduler, but something about contacting crew scheduling on a day off that never really sat right with me.
If you are trying to move off days in a month where the pilot reserve levels are under target reserve levels, is it even possible to have anything moved?
I understand the whole concept of capped reserve days and the need to have the minimum required reserve in contrast to the actual available. Looking at the category for next month though, it looks like we will be short by 3-5 reserve pilots every day, so will that in turn prevent almost any type of moving of X days?
I know it is constantly changing hence the PCS updating 3 times a day, but I was curious if anyone else has seen this in the past.

Don't cost nothing to ask. Put it in and see what happens. I've been pleasantly surprised many times when I thought there was no way.

Heyas Guys,
These are the most important words in your airline career:
Repeat after me "New airplanes are a myth. Nothing will ever happen. What is, will be, forever".
Keep chanting that, and you will retain your santiy, and have a %99.997 chance of being correct.
Go with the odds.

Lots of jockeying between the 3 big alliances of who to add next (lower half of the article)

Besides, monarchies whether they are in England or U.S. government or unions or what have you are just more interesting when they involve pretty princesses. And we need a little color around here sometime and I try to always step up to that challenge. ARTHUR: I am your king!
WOMAN: Well, I didn't vote for you.
ARTHUR: You don't vote for kings.
WOMAN: Well, 'ow did you become king then?
ARTHUR: The Lady of the Lake,
[angels sing]
her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite, held aloft Excalibur
from the bosom of the water signifying by Divine Providence that I,
Arthur, was to carry Excalibur.
[singing stops]
That is why I am your king!
DENNIS: Listen -- strange women lying in ponds distributing swords
is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power
derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical
aquatic ceremony.
ARTHUR: Be quiet!
