If we'd opened for "restoration" in April, 2009, are there any companies with parallel tracks we could model after? AMR maybe? Where are they now after 3 years of Section 6? Didn't the NMB just park them again?

Maybe I'm missing your point. If AMR opened 3 years ago, then my basic Oklahoma high school education math says that would have been in 2007, not April, 2009. How is that a "parallel track?"

Slow's point is correct, American serves as a benchmark for us. (US Air also is a benchmark :( )

Among legacy, network, carriers, we are among the best compensated. We need others to do better at the table and give us something to build on.

While American is a benchmark; American is a poor comparison. American did not hire a (banker/outsourcing consultant/bankruptcy expert) management team to lead the company into a strategic default on roughly half their debt while removing longevity costs from customer and aircraft servicing jobs.

I believe the original 1113 contract was up in Apr 10. Normally openers are exchanged 6 to 9 months before the amendable date. I did have this conversation with a ALPA rep about the extension and how it is hurting us. He did have a very valid point that openers would have been exchanged summer of 09 which would not have been a good time. Its difficult once a opener is on the table to try and change it to increase demands. I will grant that was and is a valid point.
The key to this contract is going to be the groundwork in DC. We have to have the NMB and congressional support or we will get hung up forever like AMR. There is behind the scenes actions ongoing as we speak to try and avoid the AMR debacle. Lets hope they succeed.

That is incorrect. Delta could NOT have operated NWA's wide body aircraft on the Pacific routes without a change in Delta's scope language. We northies were fully briefed on that chapter and verse.

RA could have completed the merger, but all NWA wide bodies couldn't have flown international. Delta pilots had considerable leverage...NWA pilots did not because the merger had not yet closed.

I don't know what's in the FA Crew Lounge, but the argument the vote was influenced by painting vote reminders on the Crew Bus seems laking any merit what so ever.

The AFA lost this vote because they failed to focus on the fundamentals. The AFA failed to explain a union's relevance is it's ability to bring together workers to prevent outsourcing.

If I was running the AFA drive, I'd make a poster (including pay) of Singapore's Cabin Staff on one side and Delta's on the other and ask, "if neither has a union, which would you keep?"

I'm guessing that the Singapore flight attendants are all young and drop dead gorgeous. If that's the case, this post is really funny. Most of ours are old or overweight. I'd keep the Singapore ones.

I'm not the the best at doing searches but this is what I came up with searching Singapore flight attendants.;)

Ive had good luck calling the CPSC who can connect you to anyone.

They hooked me up with a guy who could get me into old NWA Atlas so I could do the LMS thingie.
