I think the first day of service out there was yesterday (the 22nd). All I know about the place is off the hotel committee's site. The hotel is:

Palau Hotel Resort - Palau Pacific Resort - Palau Pacific 5 Star Resort Hotel

I'm looking forward to getting out there sometime too. Put some info up when you get back.

Here's one for you. If you do a gs in DEC while on reserve and do not have any "days on" to get paid back on for the remainder of the month, and have a schedule in January and going forward, what are the options? When, how do you get those days back?

They go into a PB day bank and you can add them onto your vacation for the current year or save them up to buy vacation for the next year during the bidding process. You can't use them to drop parts of your next rotation in January which would be awesome. I talked a guy who had more vacation days from PB days than he had actual vacation. I think he had close to 40 PB days to bid PLUS his regular vacation. For every month you pull a true "rolling thunder" you will have 11 or 12 PB days that go into that bank.

Hey Ferd,

Id like to be the proverbial fly on the sim wall that hears a fNW guy panic, revert to manual overide and say something like "Engine Failure Climb Mode." This, of course, would shortly be followed by, "FilchMaxContinuousThrustBugMeToVZF." The sound of crickets would be deafening.

:DLOL.

From a southie you'll most likely hear "Heading Select, Auto-throttles - Off, Talk to Tower." At 1000' "Bug Flaps One Speed." " At Flaps One, "Level Change," "Max Continuous Thrust," "Engine Failure Check," "After Takeoff Check."

Followed by, "*** is filch?" "I have the aircraft." "Are you a northie?" "Geezz, you guys.":D
