Merry Christmas to all my DAL Brothers & Sisters! We've had an awesome 2010! Let's make 2011 even better!!! :)

To those with their families, enjoy every minute. Remember their are others out there keeping the airline running while they are away from their families.

To those on the road, be safe. A lot of WX lately across the country has made things challenging. Don't let your guard down.

Yeah, my one leg home was to be complete at 0852 today, but instead due to "IROP" I was rerouted to stay in airport hotel an extra day (Christmas day at that) and bring a/c home a day later. This IROP was company created. A grievance may be in order....
I now know what is at the TOP of my 2012 contract list!

:) It's snowing majorly in Atlanta now!!!

acl65pilot 12-25-2010 08:12 AM

Yeah the snow sleet line is about 30 miles South of the ATL airport. It was probably a really good gamble to keep jets in out stations to move the families going on vacation tomorrow. Loads today were good, but not full. It looks like many of the effected passengers were routed North when able, and delayed by a day or two if necessary. I know it sure beats sitting in the ATL airport for two days.

I would suspect that the Three hour Tarmac rule really drove the decision to cut the ATL op in half today. Glad I am over a thousand miles away from that place.

Oh please, quit trying to play a lawyer because you aren't. You have a history of asking loaded questions but the implications are ALWAYS the same.

One more time.........tell us again how you had a job offer from NWA but were smart enough to hold out for Delta.

You're absolutely right Ferd. I have bragged about it so much on here. :rolleyes:Come on dude, I've never done that and if you think otherwise, I can't fix that. DAL hired me first, that's where I went. Everyone else I interviewed with was just job protection.

You once again FAILED to state the reason behind your question. State it's intent, & perhaps people will be more helpful.

It doesn't really matter if you state it's not flame bait when you don't give a valid reason for asking the question. The question all by itself is very close to flame bait.

I asked the question the way I did because had I told you the background information about why I was asking, you guys would be whining anymore than you already did. I'm not going there. I just wondered if it was expected of you to say goodbye to the passengers?

No. Most of us didn't need to be trained to do it.

Those that don't have an aversion to people, just did it naturally. Those that do have an aversion won't do it no matter how much they're trained. And that's probably a good thing.

Carl

I agree Carl. And I have seen many of DAL pilots who have said, "I'm not doing it because DAL doesn't pay me enough to do it." When I working with someone like that, if I can, I will do it myself. Usually they laugh and tease me for being a "yes man" but whatever.

And from your previous post, yes at DAL, it was expected that whoever did the landing, said goodbye. That's all I wanted to know ... was it the same at NWA?

For those working today, I'll see you on the radios. Merry Christmas.
