Holy Cow! I see that picture just above your post, and then the next thing I see is what you wrote (without first reading the quote you were responding to)!!!

I just dont understand why scheduling feels the need to always have more guys on SC then their TARGET number. Why do they put a target number of 4, yet ALWAYS put 6 guys on SC everyday they can? If you need 6 SC's, they make that your target #!!!

Yeah, our SC system sucks. I think they do it because they can. Hopefully we can get it fixed, along with some of the other reserve stuff, in the next contract.

That's exactly why IMO Buzz. There needs to be better structure....or maybe just structure period. Scheduling has way too much freedom when it comes to reserve.

Hey Slow or Sailing, since ya'll may be one in the same

everything always seems to have a cost. But does adding a raw score value to SC even if unused be a no cost simple addition to reserve rules?

Makes sense to me and would lead to significant QOL improvements for many reserves without any negative side that I can see.

Yep, you can GS on your Golden Days and they get paid back just like any other day off. You just can't get an IA on a Golden Day and scheduling is suppose to use their "best efforts" to not re-route you into your Golden Days. If you get a GS on a Golden Day you get a PB day for working that day and that PB day is not a Golden Day if that is the point you are trying to get across.

If I want to attempt rolling thunder, I want my Golden Days at the front of the month or on weekends. That way they can't mess with the days that are most likely to have low coverage and GS trips awarded.

In print, that sounds heartless. The reality is, that the owner should have read the the paperwork she purchased. Company is not responsible when temp. is below freezing. And come on, a hairless animal, in a cargo bin, in dead of winter. No amount of $ is going to "fix" the problem for this pet owner. The company doesn't actually, or perhaps (arguably) even morally, owe her a nickel. But get it in the press, and DAL looks like the bad guy....somethin' bad wrong with that.
