That toy jet is too small. Totally beneath my stature as a Delta pilot. Let the FLAPs fly it! :p

TIC for the dense among us. Looks suspiciously similar to an E-Jet, hopefully we learned our lesson and don't allow them to be outsourced.

Sure is going to look nice with "connection" on the side:(

Russia's Sukhoi has entered a bid with its Superjet 100 airliner to a request for proposals from America's Delta Air Lines for as many as 200 narrow-body aircraft, according to sources quoted by FlightGlobal.com.

The Superjet will be among five bidders for the Delta contract, including the Bombardier C series and Airbus A320neo.

The Superjet 100, marketed in the United States by Alenia North America, was awarded Russian type certification earlier in February.

Mexican low-cost airline Interjet ordered 15 Superjet 100s in January.

Hmm Sukhoi would be a cool flight bag sticker - oh we don't use those anymore ;-)

Not a bad jet 8% burn improvement over the big Embraer E-Series.
$30M list price is a "fighting" price and probably would be severely discounted for a large order.
Sukhoi is hungry to transform their business to a viable global aerospace company.
Western subsystems should alleviate MX and dispatch concerns:

A Delta Airlines Boeing 737-800, flight DL-1846 from Fort Lauderdale,FL to Minneapolis,MN (USA) with 140 passengers, was climbing out of Fort Lauderdale's runway 09L when the crew reported the failure of the left hand engine and levelled off at 3000 feet. An aircraft waiting for departure reported seeing parts dropping off the aircraft prompting the tower to order a runway inspection with nothing found on the runway. The Delta Boeing returned to Fort Lauderdale's runway 09L for a safe landing about 17 minutes after departure and vacated the runway.

Runway 09L was closed for about 10 minutes.

Aircraft parts were found near the Port Everglades Cargo Entry Point.

Witnesses on the ground reported a huge bang from the engine following by parts dropping off the aircraft.

My hope is that no corilation exists between airline reviews and engine failures.

It not the weight, it's the CG. The condo planes do weigh more, but they have a high gross TO weight too, 412K if I remember correctly (due to the winglets I thnk). The normal ERs have a 408K TO weight I think.

Also, JFK-TLV-JFK used to be an 767-300ER, with a condo. Now, it's a 747-400, which I'm sure can do it, as someone pointed out, but you have to have the loads for it.

I'm trying to figure out how to play the last few days of reserve this month. So far:

I'm up to 57 hours of credit.

I have 1 GS of 8 hours, which I'm told is single-pay NO credit above reserve guarantee.

The way I understand this is that if I do nothing else for the month, my paycheck will reflect 78 hours. My question is then if I fly another 20 hours of credit, bringing me up to 77, what will I be paid?

I will no longer be getting any reserve guarantee because my credit exceeded 70 hours. Does the 8 hours of GS just ride above my credit? Using my example of 77 hours of credit, would I now be paid 85 hours? Or does credit above 70 hours begin offsetting the GS pay, ie I still only get 78 hours?

I would like to think not, but just checking before I start YS the rest of my reserve days for nothing. If that's the case, I'll just lay low and hope the phone doesn't ring.

If you fly another 20 hours bringing your credit to 77 hours you will get paid the 77 hours of credit plus the 8 hours of GS pay at single pay for 85 hours. What should happen is if you get to the GS trigger of 75 hours credit during a month of reserve, your GS pay should go to double pay like a regular block holder gets, but it doesn't.
