The ALPA National lawyers surrendered without a fight when RAH first bought Midwest and Frontier. They said that RAH was not an "air carrier" because they had separate certificates on the property and were just a holding company.
Now that they have combined their seniority lists and the NMB will soon declare them a single airline, I think it is time for ALPA to revisit that issue.

For anyone with an ounce of common sense who can read plain English -- Republic is violating our scope clause.

Lee Moak and the bureaucrats in Herndon will just have to get over it. It is past time that we stood our ground and enforced our contract instead of giving another "concession".
ALPA National's conflict of interest is going to have to yield to the mainline pilots this time instead of the RJ drivers.
I am checking the NMB website every day waiting for that ruling. Now that the arbitrator has handed down a seniority list, the NMB should act real soon.

UAL/CALalpa's addressed, fought, and won the ruling regarding recent 50-seat scope violations very swiftly in a public battle. I would be curious as to who drove that quick push- the MECs or ALPA.

Has anyone thought about how many pilot-jobs are associated with the Narita operation? Based on the current trajectory of things its not looking good.

Quick scheduling question.

I finish 7ER training the 23rd of this month. I convert to 7ER in April. Can they schedule my OE and TOE on awarded X-days in April, or do they have to schedule my OE and TOE around them? Can't find it in the contract.

Thanks.

The ruling families over there must be feeling the heat. They are being squeezed from both sides. The Islamists want the monarchies gone and to install a Caliphate. The younger more modernist elements want more personal freedom. The poor want a bigger slice of the oil pie. Those business oriented governments that spawned Emirates and Qatar and Ethiad Air Lines may not survive the turmoil.

I wonder what the Koran says about export credits to buy airplanes?

They question is, can we afford for this to happen? If the House of Saud falls, we may be looking at $250 per bbl of oil.

Yes, they can. If you are on reserve you will get prorated days off back. If you are awarded a shadow award, you will be paid and credited for those trips.

I would suspect we see about 200-300 pilot positions that support the NRT Operation. Just a guess by watching the crews go in and our of there. May be more.

Now that the fishing season has opened in alaska, maybe we can put some (more than 1) 747s on that. I bet we could fill 2/day out of ATL.

Lets be honest here. There is absolutely no conflict with RJET, even with all of its separate certificates, and ALPA. All of the RJET pilots are Teamsters and there is no conflict fighting this one. No matter what you think of there being a boogieman at National or not, there is no conflict with this one. It came down to legal interpretation.
What has saved them in the past was the fact that pilots could not fly under one certificate on one day, and another one the next. Yes, they were under the same CBA, but they had to do indoc etc to pass to another operation.

I do agree, they do need be seen as a single carrier and given that status.
