They may not have been but the question here is, were they dumped ~16 at a time?

That's not too much out of a large fleet.

Personally I'd be surprised if the 744s were parked in the next 5 years but who knows.

16 747's is a ton of capacity that you can't just replace quickly. Especially for an airline that refuses to buy new airplanes and has trouble getting used ones on line. Japan will bounce back. The company wants to be ready to jump on that market, and parking 747's would kill any chances of being able to do so IMO. I can't see them just parking them.

Actually... it was within a span of about 6-7 years. That is A LOT of metal over that short of a time period.

This is true but no worries. Once we use our dues to bring them up, all will be perfect. Wait....Until another starts up that is cheaper and the old one gets dumped. Process starts all over again. Cycle of life at the "Trade Union".

capn, It's been a bit of a high strung day here at the L&G. It's been a while since one of your "barely TOS" pictures has graced our presence.

This one I like to call "post it". I dedicate it to everyone who is currently in Initial training. Myself included.
