I kind of figured that was coming. The 744 is too large of an airplane for that leg until it's developed. Now, what does that do with the 744 fleet plan?

They can put it on the DTW-HKG and DTW-PVG routes. That would free up the 777 to STAY on the Lagos route this summer. :D

I would not state that they will not have the discussion Carl. It comes down to what we want, and then if it is better to wait until section six or go after mid term improvements and "possibly" extend the contract.

You and I both know there is no way TO is going to go marching into the RA's office and say what Carl said, haha.

Then again, I can hear RA rolling around on the floor laughing depending on what is asked for. It's a fine line.. while I'd like some significant mid contract pickups, I just don't see it happening out of section 6. It's too dreamy.

Neither side will even act on RAH.

I say give Carl the chance to enjoy LOS. :D

Always heard the 744 might end up in South America one of these days too.

Oh I think if they go for a single certificate or they change the structure of the company the union will press the issue. We are not going to willfully let them violate it.

TSquare is right on the mark. Unless you are wearing the right class ring, or were in the right squadron, you ain't getting on any committee other than as the toilet scrubber, and probably not even that.

Notice that the only people that are trying to change anything are elected LEC reps...NOT by anyone in the appointed committees, which is to say almost all of them.

I VASTLY preferred the fNWALPA committee structure. The very nature of the MEC/LEC/Committee membership ensured that there was at least one different viewpoint on the committee.

I think LOS on the 747 would be similar to the 777, a reserve trip.

Depending on what happens at NRT and the price of fuel there are some scary discussions going on about the 747 fleet plan. Rumor is all interior mods are on hold. Thats not good news.

Yep, knew that was coming. Loads are not there with this going on. They will be though, and it is a smart move.

Then you know this one is coming too. FM III. You were not here for I & II, but I'm sure someone here will explain it all to you.

If you think this nuclear disaster of epic magnitude is only going to impact "five percent" of Delta's operation, think again.

Ref. sailings post above, this could impact many more employees than I & II combined.

BTW, we don't say 80 knots clamp anymore. Thrust normal. What's normal? That's in the eye of the beholder. ;)

The membership needs to decide if they would want to do that.

This just dawned on me.

If the whole "what are you willing to give up?" question about extensions?

We're Delta pilots, we don't do extensions. :D

But that said, the way it comes across is that the pot is "THIS" big, and that's it. C2012 the pot will be the same size, maybe 2% higher. So you want higher pay rates, you've got to take it from somewhere else in the pot. That's what we're hearing when that's asked. But I haven't heard it asked since the "I'm willing to give up ALPA" retort came around. :D

That would then require the commercials to be shot with 777s and not 747s. For the sake of advertising and posters around the training center, the 747 is beloved and for that alone, it stays. :o

I'm not even going to guess on 747s and fleet plans, I know nothing. But I thought they were all flying now?
