Thanks Carl - I was trying to make a joke
Don't forget the incorrect use of you're, your, and they're :) Denny |

Actually, when were (we're) talking furloughs, the poop flows uphill. You loose (lose) the bottom 900 and the displacements resonate up through the seniority list. I'm glad that your (you're) in a position to not be effected by the loose (loss) of 450 captain positions - good for you. The bottom 900 are hating life, being on the street and all (I would be one of them), but everyone else is loosing (losing) bidding power as they're relative seniority is eroded.
For the record - I got you're (your) original point, but I'm not sure if you got mine. Maybe you were to (too) busy correcting my grammar. Spell check is not the same as actually checking your spelling. |

Okay, you are making my point. My point was that the sentiments displayed on the web boards are from a small number of posters and do not represent the majority of pilots. It seems you agree with that.

I have no doubt that there are many lurkers on this board and on the ALPA board. Absent a mind reading device, it is difficult to gauge the opinions of the lurkers and I don't attempt to.

That is why a rep has to make the effort to go out and engage with his pilots. That is why Wilson Polling is used. That is why a rep has to have the courage to ignore the loudest voices and listen to the most voices even if that means the forum crowd will call you names.

There has not been one TA at Delta that had even close to a significant amount of support from the forum, including C2K. Yet they have all passed so far. The forum crowd attributes that to the rest of the pilots being uneducated, sheep, fearful, mindless robots, etc. In short, they don't respect their fellow pilots and they don't value their opinions.

So I repeat back to the forum crowd, no offense, but you don't represent the majority. Never have, probably never will. Your voice represents one pilot among 12000 and that's it. Same goes for me.

And perhaps you should leave this forum occasionally and learn a thing or two outside of here..... 6,300 posts ?? Really?? http://static.desktopnexus.com/thumb...gthumbnail.jpg and a break from diapers, tearing down old swing sets and building up a new swing set, fixing up the house, cleaning up the house, yard work, keeping up with the news, gym, helping people move, reading, cooking, growing a beat, did I mention diapers?, church, wife's to do list, grocery shopping, errands and so on... if you want to really know. Plus, it's free and I can type in that 88 wpm range.

I think there are a lot of pilots (just a hunch not a fact) that come to this forum and read but don't necessarily post. I for one rarely post but I do keep up to date and view a lot. I personally know of quite a few that lurk and never post. There is a lot of good info here and a lot of not so good info. Just because the number of active/prolific posters might be a small number/percentage, there are a lot of readers/lurkers. Just look at the number of views vs posters.
Really, the reason people come here is that it's a lot of good stuff mixed in with the sex, gossip and controversy that pilots demand. |
Hey, quick drift, I know a lot of angst came up with that credit card stuff but I will tell you that Delta/UHC did something kind of nice and sent what was basically an informative care package after our second was born in January. It had a book on what to expect in the first year that we already owned but it's a really nice book for mom's especially if they hadn't seen it. The gesture sure was appreciated.
Now back to the credit card thing, I'm working on convincing 80 to get a skymiles card through me. If you want to help convince 80 to get that skymiles card through me let him know. :D |

Only if you get a card through me. We should all actually get each other to sign up and have a wicked circle ...hmmm maybe a poor choice of words.. have a perpetuating sign up group and rake in all those iPads.
