The bottom 900 are hating life, being on the street and all (I would be one of them), but everyone else is loosing (losing) bidding power as they're relative seniority is eroded.

For the record - I got you're (your) original point, but I'm not sure if you got mine. Maybe you were to (too) busy correcting my grammar.

Spell check is not the same as actually checking your spelling.

That might be your point now that you've been called out on your obvious errors, but that's not what you said. You made the claim that forums don't represent the majority of pilots because 99.5% of pilots don't even visit web forums. You just pulled that number out of your back side, and now you're trying to deflect and run from your own post. We get that.

Nobody's talking about gauging the opinions of lurkers. We're talking about the effectiveness of you calling web posters names and denigrating web forums as not reflecting a majority view because 99.5% of pilots don't visit web forums.

I hope people notice the pattern here. If you don't show up to meetings, you're a lazy thoughtless pilot. Worse yet, a web forum person. If you DO show up at meetings and speak, you're one of those "loud voices" of the "vocal minority". If you speak your mind on a web forum, you're yet another loud voice of the vocal minority. This tactic is used primarily to ensure you run your elected office exactly the way YOU want to run it, all while claiming you represent the views of the majority...the silent majority.

You do that, but I don't hear many others denigrate their fellow pilots like that. But since you're a poster on this "forum crowd", I guess I have to call you accurate on that point.

So I repeat back to the forum crowd, no offense, but you don't represent the majority. Never have, probably never will. Your voice represents one pilot among 12000 and that's it. Same goes for me.

And I repeat, you have no idea what you're talking about. You haven't a clue to what percent the "forum crowd's" opinion represents the total pilot's view.

6,300 posts ?? Really??

It's a great place to engage other pilots you work with especially since I only work on average 4 days a month...

http://static.desktopnexus.com/thumb...gthumbnail.jpg

and a break from diapers, tearing down old swing sets and building up a new swing set, fixing up the house, cleaning up the house, yard work, keeping up with the news, gym, helping people move, reading, cooking, growing a beat, did I mention diapers?, church, wife's to do list, grocery shopping, errands and so on... if you want to really know.

Plus, it's free and I can type in that 88 wpm range.

I personally know of quite a few that lurk and never post. There is a lot of good info here and a lot of not so good info. Just because the number of active/prolific posters might be a small number/percentage, there are a lot of readers/lurkers. Just look at the number of views vs posters.

Absolutely, I know a lot of people who don't post but read. Some don't bother to go through and create a name and post but they really should. I get a lot of info from those who have feet in the GO and the line. A lot I don't repeat or wait a long time before posting, most of the time it's just really interesting fwiw stuff but I wish they'd post it because people would benefit. If you can fly airliners you can surely post.

Really, the reason people come here is that it's a lot of good stuff mixed in with the sex, gossip and controversy that pilots demand.

Hey, quick drift, I know a lot of angst came up with that credit card stuff but I will tell you that Delta/UHC did something kind of nice and sent what was basically an informative care package after our second was born in January. It had a book on what to expect in the first year that we already owned but it's a really nice book for mom's especially if they hadn't seen it. The gesture sure was appreciated.

Now back to the credit card thing, I'm working on convincing 80 to get a skymiles card through me. If you want to help convince 80 to get that skymiles card through me let him know. :D

Only if you get a card through me. We should all actually get each other to sign up and have a wicked circle ...hmmm maybe a poor choice of words.. have a perpetuating sign up group and rake in all those iPads.
