FUPM

I'd rather see lanyards with the above printed on them instead of ALPA or DPA.

I have high expectations for this next contract. Whether it be an extension or section six, I want back what you lost, and I never was able to attain. I see a company that is projecting 1.8 billion a year in free cash flow. I am sure that figure includes new jets. All of that is based upon the revenue we are creating in this downturn, not the revenue we will make when the economy truly recovers.

I see it as a must to look at DAL as a 25-40 billion dollar a year company. We will probably see more consolidation to further help that number. Because of where I see the financial viability of DAL heading, we must let our pilots understand that, along with our fellow pilots in talks; UCAL, AMR, that great process is not just desired, but attainable.

We talked about not talking about this stuff six plus months ago, but even with oil in the 90+ range, DAL will make money for the second quarter. Just imagine what happens, when people really start flying, and capacity is increased.

Thanks for clearing that up. Now... hopefully you will stick to it.

ACL65,

This buying an airline to get fleet replacement jets for Delta hurts pilots. We replace the airplanes, keep the pilots, and stagnate. Northwest was an exception and maybe the only exception since our networks were already so carefully aligned to avoid overlap.

While I think mergers are necessary, I really hope our fleet replacement order brings airplanes to replace our airplanes.

Mergers to fix scope are a different story.

That will be coordinated over the next few months with staffing requirements with their personal desires taken into consideration, as per the trim tab.

Me likey.

From the Delta MEC negotiator's notepad:

"Q7: When can a participating pilot “expect” to separate?
A7: Again, the Company will unilaterally determine separation dates under the Program, subject to the stipulations in Q3/A3. The Company’s desire is to start separation under the Program by August 2011 and have all participating pilots separated by the end of 2011. In the event that the Company must schedule a separation date after December 31, 2011, ALPA and the Company will meet to discuss any additional provisions needed to accommodate such circumstance."

So now the company puts a letter in your file if you use the UTCP? Excuse me? You make a policy to help us, then threaten us for using it?

Really? Are those that use the UTCP asked to sign this said letter or does it lurk mysteriously in there until one asks to review their file? Are people who use the UTCP notified of the existence of a "letter"?

Anyone with first hand knowledge of this? If so, what what does the letter state?

If true, sounds like the letters, that were eventually squashed by ALPA, that they'd have pilots sign if they called in sick prior to a scheduled furlough.

Alledgedly, a penguin from the floor and the base CP would "council" one and have them sign a reliabilty letter.
