To put in perspective, last year DAL had a great year, with a NET income of almost 600 million for the year with well over 700 airplanes. Atlas & Kalitta, doing nothing but cargo, no overnight express, each did about 1/4 of DAL's numbers with about 1/25 of the airplanes.

But there's no money in cargo.

That is what those poor lassies have to do to put food on the table. You know they do work for O'Leary. He pays em horribly.

Oh btw their pilots are some of the worst paid in europe and they still make more than our guys. Last figure I was given was over 200K in US dollars a year.

Yes! In the ones you mention only one is in alpa. Do I get a cookie.

Another similarity is they employ pilots to fly airplanes safely. Sometimes with poorer results than underpaid Delta pilots.

Hey Scambo,

Until now I have ageed with the majority of your well thought out posts. However, I believe this was a really cheap body shot directed at some of my fallen brothers.

Apologies if I misunderstood your post.

I am if that is what the reps want. Point is that there is a very big divide on what to do with this NC and from what it sounds like, there may be good cause. In the end they will do the bloodletting on Tuesday.

This is what I'm hearing as well. Slow and alfa etc., are doing their standard crowd control of "move on, nothing to see here". But there's a huge conflict right now, and the NC is at the tip of the spear. I'd sure like to know exactly what happened.

The lack of transparency in the process is what I have identified as the root cause for the "mistrust" many of our line pilots have.

That's only part of it. The main part is the clear results of ALPA as our bargaining agent. From low pay, to extremely poor scope with language that ALPA won't even attempt to defend, etc. That's a lot bigger reason for mistrust. Lack of transparency is secondary.

Are you my old girlfriends dad???? I grew up in Bellevue and dated a Delta daughter. She lived on one of the keys in Newport shores. (actually I know its not you.....her dad retired)

I bought cameras for my house that are linked to the internet. It's fun to see what's happening while I'm on the road. You can use your phone to spy on cats, squirrels, birds, and spiders as they go pass the camera. Sorry about the theft, that sucks.

The DPA is heavily engaged in the process. The process of decertifying ALPA. It's the only process that will actually work.

Another lackluster PWA due to division within the group.

Far more likely is another lackluster PWA due to ALPA/DALPA/Management not wanting anything close to an industry leading contract.

True. But why aren't we constantly stating that we didn't say "a contract is a contract" when the company needed our help to SAVE THE AIRLINE!

If I were MEC chair, there would not be a single public document signed by me without this below my signature..."representing the pilots of Delta Air Lines - the pilots who didn't say "a contract is a contract" when our company needed help."

I guess we should stop carrying all the cargo we do. Bummer. Want me to tell our cargo people that there's no money in it, or do you want to relay the message?

Because our "girls" would be carrying cats and wearing size 12+ red dresses.
