I had a 777 Capt. in the jumpseat last week. He was talking about the 100 seater announcement and that ALPA didn't know what they were going to do about them. I said, "what do you mean." He said, "Would you fly Captain on it for less that your making in the right seat of the 320?" I said "We have 100 seat pay rates. It's called a DC-9 and it's more than I make, are you suggesting we give that flying away to get pay raises?" He said, "Well, no, but ALPA doesn't know what they're going to do." I said, "They better know what they're going to do or they won't be around very much longer." It was clear the he and I had a different Idea of "what to do" about the 100 seater.

Entitlement mindset. Everyone thinks that's about 20 year olds and younger. That's stupid. Its about 777 Captains who want to throw Delta pilots under the bus as much as it is about the greatest generation with their hands out for more free surgeries, drugs and motorized wheelchairs with no regard to future solvency as well as college kids who don't want to leave the cushy lifestyle their parents provide them until they get the $60,000 a year job they think they deserve.

Entitlement.

I have to raise the BS flag on this one. Call your rep and ask him if there is any truth in this drivel, then get back with us.

In general, the guys I fly with are payrate focused. When I start to discuss scope with them, I discuss it in terms of "without strong scope, the highest payrates are meaningless if you move backward or if your job goes away."

Most guys understand the critical nature of scope...language and enforcement.

All of my captains are absolutely pi$$ed about the SWA welcome package and where they sit in comparison. I mean they are incensed.

They are tired of working so hard to try to make up for what they have lost. When I say tired, I mean sick and tired and exhausted.

Good on you btw too.

I think an appropriate question should just be to ask "why do you want me to be furloughed? I have kids. I have a wife. I have house. I don't have much else. And now you want me furloughed?"

That dude is a turncoat.

He'd rather not only sell out his pilots but his airline for whatever reason, none of which justifies being a turncoat.

Not shocked either that the turncoat doesn't even know we have E190 rates. It's like the guy who tries to taxi behind the Airbus but doesn't know Airbuses don't look like E170s.

Delta has made a profit without 100 seaters. We should have 50 seat props and then A319s or 717s. Nothing in between because at this point nothing else works without playing a game of outsourcing because of debt or crew costs.

The airline and it's employees are not for sale to DCI or AF/KLM or Alaska. If they want to win, we'll give them a win. If they won't us gone, well, anyone who supports that in our own ranks should be humiliated.

Reroute, I'd be surprised if the rumor is true, I'm more enraged by the 777 A's willingness to go along with it if asked or to think on our behalf - "you'd fly that in the left seat for less than you're making in the right seat here!" Um. With the PWA already settled, none of your business what I fly or where I chose to be based.

I have my complaints about ALPA and on scope but I've also seen enough to know ALPA won't give up a headcount.

People demand to have the right to trip park, or fly over their vacations or increase the min reserve from 70 to 78 or what have you, all of which would decrease the number of required pilots imho.

DALPA seems to put their foot down on that stuff and that should be applauded... and that better never change.

My other complaints however will continue until DALPA leaves ALPA, I can elect my MEC Chairman, we set out on a course for SWA pay and scope plus, and some other stuff.

It's not even about the rumor, it's about the fact the 777A would vote out 100 seaters just because the CA seat would pay less then the right seat of the 320.

Plus, if he'd take the time to read his flippin contract he'd see that E-195 and DC9 CA rates that WE ALREADY HAVE pay more then 320 FO!!!!!

I know it's BS, and don't believe for a second that ALPA doesn't know what they are going to do about it. That was the point I was trying to make.
